Summary/Objective
The Executive Director will serve as the chief administrator, providing leadership and implementing policies and programs to carry out the work of Every Child Can Read.
Essential Functions

Reports to the Board of Directors, maintaining open communication and disclosure of the conditions, operations, and needs of the organization.
Assists in Board Development.
Drafts, presents, and recommends organizational policies and programs to the Board.
Preparation and management of the annual budget.
Identifies potential sources of investment and organizes and participates in fundraising efforts.
Managing and recruiting tutoring.
Managing and recruiting volunteers.
Facilitates periodic audits, financial reports, donor documentation and compliance activities for the organization.
Supports and directs public relations activities to build and maintain relationships with other organizations and the public.
Collaborates with the Board of Directors to identify, create and implement strategic plans to actualize business objectives.
Identifies, recruits, trains and develops a talented team of employees who can lead critical departments and manage strategic business functions.
Monitors organization’s operations and ensures employees and business practices comply with regulatory and legal requirements.
Develops the organization’s culture and promotes transparency and collaboration throughout the organization.
Develops partnerships with organization’s stakeholders such as Richmond Community Schools and other relevant parties.
Identifies potential risks and opportunities within the organization and its environment to protect the organization’s interests.
Directs marketing efforts.
Represent the organization at community events in ways that strengthen the brand and communicate the organization’s message.
Executes other duties as requested by the Board of Directors.

Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds at times. Books and supplies.
Travel required
Travel to site locations using personal and Every Child Can Read vehicles.
Required education and experience
Bachelor’s degree and/or experience in related field required.
