Recognized as the global leader in aircraft and component remanufacturing, Flexjet has redefined the business aviation industry by using reimagined engineering and production capabilities to transform used business aircraft into new modern airframes.This position is located in Cleveland, OH.DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESCreate electronic documents using word processing and desktop publishing toolsResearch and collect data to write aircraft flight manual supplements, weight and balance supplement manuals, installation manuals, maintenance manuals, and/or service documentsCommunicate with the Design Engineers regarding product specifications/developmentDesigns and coordinates material and structural repairsResearch airframe technical characteristics to accurately document functions and features of specific aviation productsWork in a team environment within the Technical Publications area to constantly improve the archival, storage and documentation processEdit copy for content organization, style, audience and format consistencyPerforms other duties as assignedREQUIRED SKILLSAt least two (2) years of experience as a Technical Writer on programs and contracts of similar scope, type and complexity is requiredAssociates degree or higher in relevant discipline from an accredited college or universityTwo (2) additional years of Technical Writer experience may be substituted for an Associates degreeAbility to understand basic editing concepts and write technical copies for various types of documents for a program/project of similar complexityDemonstrated experience preparing and maintaining documentation, user guides, manuals, and technical publicationsWORK ENVIRONMENTWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme weather conditions.
