Dealer Auditor

OverviewWe are seeking a Dealer Auditor to support warranty audit activities within an automotive retail network. This role is responsible for planning, executing, and reporting on audits related to dealership warranty claims, ensuring consistent application of policies, accuracy of claims, and overall compliance.This position is highly analytical and requires a strong understanding of dealership operations, technical repair processes, and warranty systems. The ideal candidate will bring a combination of automotive retail knowledge and hands-on warranty auditing experience.Key ResponsibilitiesConduct on-site audits of dealership warranty claims to ensure compliance with established policies and proceduresAnalyze audit findings and prepare detailed reports outlining results and recommendationsCommunicate audit results to stakeholders through formal documentation and presentationsPerform root cause analysis to identify issues and recommend corrective actionsMonitor and maintain audit tools, processes, and documentationIdentify opportunities to improve internal processes, systems, and policy effectivenessEnsure fairness, accuracy, and consistency across all audit activitiesWork Environment & TravelHigh travel role (80-100%), primarily to dealership locationsTravel typically within a regional driving radius, with air travel as neededWeekly schedule generally includes:Monday: Travel and preparationTuesday-Thursday/Friday: On-site auditsFriday: Remote administrative work and planningTravel, lodging, and equipment providedQualificationsBachelor's degree required5-7+ years of experience in one or more of the following areas:Automotive retail operations (especially fixed operations)Automotive technical or service environmentsWarranty claims auditing (strongly preferred)In-depth understanding of dealership processes and the franchised dealer modelRequired SkillsHands-on experience with warranty claims auditingStrong knowledge of automotive repair, diagnostics, and service operationsExcellent analytical and problem-solving skillsStrong attention to detail and accuracyProficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and collaboration tools)Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholdersUnderstanding of risk management, compliance, and audit processesPreferred QualificationsPrior experience in financial, compliance, or operational auditingExperience with dealership management systems and warranty platformsFamiliarity with automated or digital audit tools and processesExperience developing or interpreting policies, procedures, or technical documentationProfessional certifications (e.g., Certified Internal Auditor, Certified Fraud Examiner, PMP)Core CompetenciesAbility to work independently in a highly autonomous, travel-based roleStrong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships across dealership networksAdaptability in a dynamic and fast-paced environmentStrong organizational and time management skills
