The role requires deep expertise in Palo Alto NGFW platforms, OT/IT security considerations, and compliance standards commonly used in Oil & Gas organizations.Key ResponsibilitiesPalo Alto Firewall Administration Design, deploy, configure, and manage Palo Alto NGFWs (PASeries, VMSeries)Implement and maintain security policies, NAT, routing, zones, and profilesManage Panorama for centralized firewall managementPerform firewall upgrades, patches, and license managementSecurity & Threat Prevention Configure and manage Threat Prevention, URL Filtering, WildFire, AntiVirus, AntiSpywareImplement UserID, AppID, ContentID for applicationaware securityHandle incident response, log analysis, and threat remediationSupport SOC teams with firewall logs and security investigationsVPN & Remote Access Configure and maintain IPSec SitetoSite VPNsManage GlobalProtect (Remote Access VPN)Troubleshoot VPN connectivity and performance issuesOil & Gas Domain ResponsibilitiesSecure upstream, midstream, and downstream network environmentsWork with OT/ICS/SCADA network teams ensuring ITOT network segregationImplement security controls aligned with industrial network best practicesSupport environments such as refineries, drilling sites, pipelines, terminalsCompliance & Governance Ensure compliance with ISO 27001, NIST, IEC 62443 or internal security standardsSupport audits, risk assessments, and vulnerability remediationMaintain detailed firewall documentation, diagrams, and SOPsCollaboration & Support Work closely with network, infrastructure, cloud, and SOC teamsCoordinate with vendors and OEM support (Palo Alto TAC)Provide L3 support and mentor junior engineersRequired Skills & QualificationsTechnical Skills Strong handson experience of more than 10+ years in networking with 6+ years in Palo Alto Firewalls & PanoramaIndepth knowledge of TCP/IP, routing (OSPF/BGP), NAT, VPNsExperience integrating firewalls with SIEM toolsStrong troubleshooting and packet analysis skillsDomain ExperiencePrior experience in Oil & Gas / Energy / Utilities environmentsUnderstanding of OT vs IT network security challengesExposure to industrial control systems (ICS/SCADA) security is a strong plusCloud & Infrastructure (Preferred)Experience with Palo Alto VMSeries in AWS/AzureKnowledge of hybrid network security architecturesCertifications (Preferrable) PCNSA / PCNSECISSP / CISM (nice to have)IEC 62443 or industrial security certifications (plus)Nice to Have Experience with Zero Trust architectureExposure to SDWAN security integrationScripting or automation (Python, Ansible)Thanks,Akhil,Advent Global Solutions (AGS),akhil dot macharla at adventglobal dot com
