Night Watchman - Security

Night Watch Person Night Watch Person position who are responsible, caring and looking for the opportunity to protect students. The Night Watch Person will patrol school grounds and student housing during the evening or as scheduled by supervisor. This position will also provide assistance to security department personnel, for traffic control, crowd control, and other security department related activities. Patrols school campus during assigned schedule. Patrols the campus including housing area to protect facilities from fire, vandalism, and other threats; Watches for suspicious activity such as trespass vehicles and individuals, which may pose a threat to buildings and facilities. Maintains contact with Director of Operations, Superintendent, Principals and Lead Security Officer, reporting activity which may require decision making by management. Works independently and with other school staff members as needed. Provides assistance to security department personnel, for traffic control, crowd control and other security department related activities. Keeps a nightly log of activities performed, including: Patrolled areas: frequency and time of patrol. Individuals encountered with the buildings and surrounding main school campus. Doors left open, unlocked or unsecured Secured areas and doors left open. Out of normal activity at the housing including: loud music, loud tenants, suspicious vehicles and suspicious activity. Patrol of all roadways on campus including main roadway from Arizona State Highway 264. As needed, performs off campus activity such as student transport and vehicle fuel purchases. Requests assistance from the Hopi Law Enforcement Services if immediate assistance is required. Attends meetings at the request of the Director of Operations. Gives suggestions to the Director of Operations, which may be beneficial to the mission of the school. Works with Law Enforcement officials as necessary. Conducts duties and responsibilities in accordance with the Hopi Junior/Senior High School Governing Board Policies and Procedures. Demonstrated skills in dealing with people in difficult circumstances with considerable tact. Professional verbal and written communication skills in English; ability to instruct and maintain emotional control under stress. Knowledge of facilities security. Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationship with others. Knowledge of general school site rules and policy. Knowledge of Governing Board rules of conduct and policy. Skill in communicating orally and in writing. Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with others, requiring the ability to interact professionally and courteously with students, faculty, staff and the public. High School Diploma or GED equivalent. One (1) years' work experience in night security within school setting or security.
