Stand Up Forklift Operator
Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Stand Up Forklift Operator to join our dynamic warehouse team. In this role, you will be responsible for efficiently operating stand-up forklifts and other material handling equipment to support warehouse distribution, shipping, and receiving operations. Your expertise will ensure safe, accurate, and timely movement of goods throughout the facility, contributing to overall operational excellence. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in warehouse management, equipment operation, and safety standards, with a proactive approach to maintaining inventory accuracy and supporting team collaboration.
Responsibilities
Safely operate stand-up forklifts, reach trucks, clamp trucks, pallet jacks, and Hi-Lo forklifts to load, unload, and transport materials within the warehouse.
Perform order picking using barcode scanning systems and manual methods to fulfill customer orders accurately.
Manage inventory by conducting regular stock counts, updating warehouse management systems (WMS), and ensuring proper storage of goods.
Assist in shipping and receiving activities by verifying incoming and outgoing shipments against documentation.
Conduct routine equipment inspections and perform basic repairs or report maintenance needs to ensure optimal forklift performance.
Follow OSHA regulations, warehouse safety protocols, and forklift safety standards to maintain a safe working environment.
Support manual handling tasks involving heavy lifting and materials movement while adhering to proper ergonomic practices.
Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to optimize workflow, improve inventory accuracy, and enhance overall warehouse operations.
Skills
Proven experience operating stand-up forklifts, reach trucks, and other material handling equipment within a warehouse setting.
Strong knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS), barcode scanning for logistics, and inventory management techniques.
Familiarity with shipping & receiving procedures, order picking processes, and load & unload operations.
Ability to perform basic math calculations related to weights, measurements, and inventory counts accurately.
Understanding of forklift safety protocols in accordance with OSHA standards and industry best practices.
Experience with equipment repair or troubleshooting forklift issues is a plus.
Excellent manual handling skills combined with attention to safety standards in production environments.
Effective communication skills for coordinating with team members and supervisors across various warehouse functions.
