This position works to logistically support the staff in the Total Learning Center in the delivery of academic support services. This position assists in responding to student inquiries while fostering an environment of exceptional customer service. Duties & ResponsibilitiesAssist with performing office duties such as answering phones, greeting students, monitoring email, and entering data as neededAssist students with signing in to the learning lab and answer general questions related to the Total Learning CenterAssist with the scheduling of appointmentsMaintain a clean, stocked snack areaAssist with preparation for eventsMaintain office bulletin boards, handouts, and promotional materialsFollow all FERPA guidelinesPerform all other duties as assignedQualificationsEnrollment in a minimum of 6 credit hours in the Fall and Spring semesters and 3 credit hours in the summerEnglish proficiencyDemonstrated proficiency in written and oral communication skillsFriendly and professional attitude and good interpersonal skillsStrong organizational skills and ability to establish and meet timelinesAbility to function as a team player who is dependable, punctual, organized, and detail-orientedPhysical DemandsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle controls, keypads, etc. Will be required to sit and reach with hands and arms as well as, sit, stand, and walk. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds while loading event supplies, booth equipment, office supplies, and paper. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, some color vision, and the ability to adjust focus from documents to computer screen.
