The role involves validating embedded systems, ensuring firmware quality, and supporting product releases by executing test plans, identifying defects, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and execute firmware test plans and test cases based on product requirementsPerform manual and automated testing of embedded systems and firmwareIdentify, document, and track bugs using defect management toolsValidate firmware functionality, performance, stability, and reliabilityWork closely with firmware developers, hardware engineers, and QA teams to resolve issuesConduct regression, integration, and system-level testingSupport product deployment and fulfilment processes, ensuring deliverables meet quality standardsAnalyze test results and provide detailed reports and recommendationsAssist in developing test automation frameworks where applicableEnsure compliance with internal quality standards and industry best practicesRequired Skills & QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Electronics, Computer Engineering, or related field2–5 years of experience in firmware or embedded systems testingStrong understanding of embedded systems, microcontrollers, and hardware-software interactionExperience with testing tools, debugging techniques, and defect tracking systemsFamiliarity with C/C++ and scripting languages (Python, Shell, etc.)Knowledge of communication protocols (UART, SPI, I2C, CAN, etc.)Hands-on experience with test equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, etc.)Good analytical and problem-solving skillsPreferred QualificationsExperience with test automation frameworksExposure to CI/CD pipelines and version control tools (e.g., Git)Knowledge of RTOS or Linux-based embedded systemsUnderstanding of hardware schematics and board bring-upSoft SkillsStrong attention to detailEffective communication and documentation skillsAbility to work independently and in a team environmentTime management and ability to meet deadlines
