Senior Development Engineer in Test (SDET) - Contract
**This is a 6 month contract opportunity collaborating directly with our client (both W2 and 1099 options are available).This position is fully remote. Candidates must be able to work in the US without sponsorship.**
Emergent Staffing is seeking an experienced Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) with expertise in C# and Selenium. As an SDET, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality of our software products through the development and execution of automated test scripts. You will work closely with developers, product owners, and QA teams to drive continuous improvement in our testing processes and ensure robust product releases.
Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using C# and Selenium for web-based applications.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, and product owners, to understand business requirements and define test strategies.
Perform functional, regression, and integration testing to ensure software meets the specified quality standards.
Identify, document, and track software defects, working closely with developers to ensure timely resolution.
Enhance existing automation frameworks and develop new frameworks as needed to improve test coverage and efficiency.
Implement continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines to automate testing processes.
Participate in code reviews to ensure automation best practices and provide feedback on testability aspects of the code.
Mentor junior team members on automation strategies and tools.
Qualifications
Proven experience as an SDET or QA Automation Engineer.
Strong proficiency in C# programming language.
Hands-on experience with Selenium WebDriver for test automation.
Familiarity with testing frameworks such as NUnit, xUnit, or MSTest.
Experience with version control systems such as Git.
Familiarity with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, Azure DevOps) for automating test execution.
Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, including functional, regression, and performance testing.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
