DescriptionTitle: Lower School Instructional CoachReports to: Lower School PrincipalWork Year: 11 monthsPosition FocusThe Lower School Instructional Coach partners with the Lower School Principal and Assistant Principal to identify areas of need in pursuit of achieving excellence in our classrooms. The Lower School Instructional Coach then trains and coaches teachers in accordance with identified goals as needs arise.The Lower School Instructional Coach must be a highly energetic professional with a track record of effectively coaching teachers and developing curriculum. The Lower School Instructional Coach will also be responsible for assisting in the development and execution of a comprehensive professional development program.SpiritualSeek to role model in attitude, speech, and action a consistent daily walk with Jesus Christ.Motivate others to accept God’s gift of salvation and grow in their faith.Follow the Matthew 18 principle in dealing with students, parents, staff and administration.Lead others to a realization of their worth in Christ and cultivate their growth in Christ-like character.Subscribe to and promote the statement of faith.All staff are ministers of Christ.Position ParametersCurriculum & Instruction:Oversee and direct all Lower School Curriculum Trak mapping to ensure vertical and horizontal alignment, pacing guides, unit/lesson planning, and formative/summative assessmentsSupervise curriculum development, implementation and daily instruction relative to Florida standardsWork with the Lower School Principal and Assistant Principal in providing overall direction for and coordination of school curriculumMaintain awareness of state standards and standardized testing results, and incorporate these insights when reviewing and guiding curriculum and instruction.Provide recommendations to the Lower School Principal to plan and monitor the curriculum budgetReview and evaluate teachers' lesson plans to ensure they align with educational standards and incorporate best practicesProfessional DevelopmentAssist Lower School Principal with maintaining a highly qualified faculty/staff through training and Professional Learning CommunityAssist faculty in the implementation of the current methodology and assessment which includes training, monitoring instructional advice and informal evaluation Maintain awareness of contemporary educational practices and engage in professional learning opportunities.Provide feedback and support through classroom observation and coaching cyclesAssist teachers in implementing diverse instructional strategies to address the needs of all learnersLead and coordinate PLC by setting clear goals, facilitating collaboration, monitoring progress, providing resources, and maintaining a structured meeting schedule.Student Support ServicesCreate and monitor Cambridge Accommodation Plans Cambridge plansConfer with teachers on educational issues in the school as neededAssessment and Progress MonitoringDevelop and Monitor the Lower School Assessment Plan – Support the creation and implementation of an assessment framework that aligns with Florida State standards and ensures data-driven decision-making.Coordinate Iowa Assessment Materials – Manage the logistics of Iowa testing, including material inventory, annual orders, distribution, scheduling, teacher training, and data analysis for instructional planning.Assist Teachers with Instructional Goals Based on Student Data – Utilize MAP Growth testing and other assessment data to guide teachers in setting targeted instructional goals, differentiating instruction, and implementing interventions to support student achievement.Instructional TechnologyPartner with Lower School Principal and Director of Instructional Technology to support teachers in implementing Instructional TechnologyQualificationsQualifications:Master’s degree in education or curriculum and instruction with three to five years of successful experience in educational leadershipFive or more years of elementary teaching experienceDemonstrated leadership and the ability to successfully manage multi-functional and/or diverse areasStrong commitment to uphold and support Cambridge Christian School’s mission and vision statements
