Family Services Counselor Supervisor - Dependency (CWCM)

Position Requirements: REQUIRED - Bachelor’s degree in social work or related human services field, 2+ years of child welfare experience REQUIRED - Active Child Welfare Certification in good standing required Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong organizational skills Proficient in computer programs and software Compensation: TBD based upon relevant education and experience. Hours of position: Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm (including some evening and weekend hours) Job Description: The Family Services Counselor Supervisor is responsible for the supervision of Family Services Counselors, providing training and guidance in case management activities and court functions. Actively participates in family case plan and provides case management services. Observes and reports client change in status to Program Director. Assists in permanency placement. Recognizes and reports signs and symptoms of abuse and neglect. Conduct timely Judicial Reviews. Demonstrates appropriate responsibility in collecting and reporting client data in accordance with the policy and procedures. Supervise daily activities of Family Service Counselor. Oversee caseloads, schedules and individual staffing assignments. Review legal reports, documents, logs and other records prepared by the Family Services Counselor within legal and contractually required time-frames. Assist and provide guidance on complex protective supervision cases. Assist with arrangements for emergency placement with at-risk children. Review relative and non-relative home studies for potential placement of children prior to reviewing with Director or Associate Director. Attend court hearings with/for Family Service Counselors, if needed. Ensure proper Department of Children and families case staffing and management. Participate in self-development training activities. Attend CTS and permanency Staffing. Schedule and attend Safety Methodology Safety meeting within the required 5 day time-frame. Prepare activities reports (monthly, quarterly and annually). Participate in the selection and hiring of staff. Evaluate staff performance. Conduct Family Support Services data corrections, as needed. Ensure Data integrity of program. Consistently maintains confidentiality. Models appropriate and professional behavior (i.e. dress, habits, personality, tact, etc.). Complete other duties as assigned. Provides education to clients and parent/guardian. Provides information on additional resources as needed. Involves client in decision making of case plan and permanency placement, or if unable designates individuals involved. Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the client/parent and guardian needs. Conduct Supervisor Reviews. Monitor unit staff completions of training requirements Physical Demands: The employee will be required to talk, hear and see; ability to manipulate objects with hands/fingers.
