Department: Quality / ESG Summary: In this role you will lead all Quality aspects for projects and pull in Supplier Quality and Operational Quality when needed. You will have oversight into the APQP process and facilitate FMEA activities. We consider these value-added tasks because they help keep our production costs down by preventing interruptions. You will also conduct a variety of failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) and root cause analysis tasks, identifying potential risks to our operations and developing corrective actions. You will contribute to our design engineering and continual improvement process and help strengthen the overall reliability of our products. Key Tasks include Project Quality Coordination; APQP Oversight; Design/Development Reliability Support; RMA Analysis; Warranty Projections. Essential Functions of the Job: The essential functions of this job require the person, with or without reasonable accommodations, to perform the following: General Responsibilities: · Ensure the reliability of equipment and processes by conducting a variety of failure analyses, including root cause, Weibull, and fault tree analysis. · Identify risks to products and develop corrective actions to support the continual improvement process. · Lead the development and execution of the strategy to integrate DFR (design for reliability) throughout the product development cycle, from initial concept through market launch, as a key member of all project teams. · Establish DFR standards to guide consistent and effective execution across platforms. · Translate product specs into technical reliability requirements by reviewing engineering specifications/drawings and propose design modifications to improve reliability. · Perform risk assessment to identify key reliability risks. · Interface with development team to drive effective FMEA’s and risk reduction. · Develop and implement reliability evaluation and support design qualification testing. · Work with other stakeholders to drive continuous reliability improvement after commercialization. · Advise and confer with engineers in design review meetings to give reliability findings and recommendations to generate data and perform life data analysis. · Monitor equipment performance and evaluate equipment history and failure trends to determine sources of poor component performance. · Partner with other manufacturing locations to develop Reliability Best Practices and to collaboratively work through common issues. Note: Needs to be within an 8 hour drive of Farmington, CT (Remote) Recommended Education and/or Experience · Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering · At least 5 years of strong skills in reliability engineering experience with capability to do predictive statistics based on HALT, HASS, SEET testing and empirical field data. · Prior management/leadership experience in manufacturing/production and reliability · Familiarity with Six Sigma methodology All Employees are expected to: · Follow the Employee Handbook policies and procedures and uphold organizational values. · Contribute to building a positive work environment. · Report for work consistently and on time. · Report to supervision any conditions or practices that are unsafe to ebm-papst and its employees.
