Build your future with Project Solutions, Inc.Position/Project Overview: Project Solutions Inc. is seeking an experienced Architect to support U.S. Air Force Civil Engineering programs at Goodfellow Air Force Base in San Angelo, Texas. This position provides full-time, on-site inspection and construction oversight services in support of Facility Sustainment, Restoration, and Modernization, Military Construction (MILCON), and related installation projects. Work will span diverse facility types including infrastructure systems (roads, utilities, water/wastewater), administrative and operational buildings, dormitories, training facilities, and secure environments such as SCIFs, as well as projects involving major telecommunications upgrades.This role is contingent upon award of project.Responsibilities and Duties:Provide technical assistance and support to CO during construction. Read, interpret and understand the construction contract plans and specificationsPrepare architectural drawings, plans, and design documents using CADD systems, preferably AutoDesk products such as AutoCADDevelop and edit technical specifications using applications such as SpecsIntact or similar specification-writing toolsPerform construction cost estimating using industry-standard software such as RSMeans or E4ClicksApply architectural design principles to support the planning, design, construction, renovation, and improvement of facilitiesConduct building code research and interpret applicable codes, standards, and regulations, including accessibility requirements (ABA/ADA compliance)Support project delivery by applying project management principles, methods, and tools to resolve architectural and design issuesCoordinate and contribute to projects involving federal, military, and/or civic facilities, ensuring compliance with applicable standards and mission requirementsPrepare and present project documentation using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe AcrobatContribute to the design and development of specialized facilities, including higher education buildings, secure facilities (e.g., SCIF), and projects involving major telecommunications system upgradesCollaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop layouts, design solutions, and construction documentation from concept through executionTrack and document noncompliant work, schedule impacts, and critical path delaysDraft project related correspondence for government review and issuanceDeliver reports, reviews, evaluations, design work, etc. to COPerform construction cost estimating using industry-standard software such as RSMeans or E4ClicksReview and process Construction Contractor's RFIs and assist in resolution, draft response, tracking, and follow upRequired Education, Knowledge and Skills:Education/Certification:Degree in Architecture from a NAAB-accredited program, or a degree in Architecture (or related field) with a qualifying combination of education and experienceRegistered Architect (R.A.) in any U.S. State, District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico, or an equivalent combination of education and professional experienceExperience: Minimum 10 years of experience in architecture, design, and/or constructionDemonstrated experience using CADD systems to produce drawings, layouts, and design documentationProven ability to apply architectural design, construction practices, and building improvement conceptsExperience applying project management principles to solve architectural and construction-related challengesExperience inspecting construction for compliance with plans and specificationsExperience coordinating with contractors and stakeholdersDrafting and design preparation using AutoDesk products (AutoCAD preferred)Experience supporting federal, military, and/or civic building projects preferredDoD, Air Force, Federal, military installation, civil engineering, FSRM, MILCON, design, cost estimating, construction management, inspection, or project support experienceExperience with applicable tools/software, such as AutoCAD, SpecsIntact, RSMeans, E4Clicks, Microsoft Office, Adobe, or similar toolsExperience with secure facilities, SCIFs, dormitories, higher education facilities, major telecommunications upgrades, or construction projects greater than $10M, as applicable to the positionDemonstrated knowledge of building codes, including research and interpretation preferredFamiliarity with Architectural Barriers Act (ABA) and accessibility compliance requirements preferredExperience with higher education, secure (e.g., SCIF), and telecommunications-intensive facilities preferredKey Attributes & Skills: Specification writing using SpecsIntact or similar systemsCost estimating using RSMeans, E4Clicks, or similar toolsMicrosoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)Adobe Acrobat and related toolsAbility to read and interpret plans, schedules, and other specificationsWritten and verbal communication, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skillsMaintain a valid driver's licenseAbility to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced work environmentAbility to stand, stoop, kneel, bend, walk or climb daily to observe contract performance for prolonged periods of timeMust be able to physically operate a motor vehicle without danger to self or to others.
