Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to identify speech, language, and swallowing challenges in pediatric clients. Develop personalized therapy plans utilizing evidence-based speech therapy techniques tailored to each child's needs. Deliver engaging therapy sessions focused on improving communication skills, social interaction, and oral motor functions. Collaborate with families, caregivers, teachers, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure cohesive support strategies. Monitor progress regularly and adjust treatment plans to optimize outcomes effectively. Educate families on home exercises and strategies to reinforce therapy goals outside clinical settings. Maintain detailed documentation of patient evaluations, treatment sessions, progress notes, and compliance records in accordance with regulatory standards. Requirements Valid licensure or certification as a Speech-Language Pathologist from an accredited program. Prior experience working with children in school settings or pediatric clinics is highly preferred. Strong knowledge of speech therapy techniques specific to pediatrics and early intervention strategies. Familiarity with medical terminology, anatomy related to speech and swallowing functions, and physiology principles relevant to communication disorders. Develop individualized treatment plans based on patient assessments, medical history, and physiological considerations. Provide direct therapy sessions aimed at improving speech, language, voice, fluency, and swallowing functions. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including physicians, educators, and caregivers to coordinate patient care strategies. Monitor patient progress regularly and adjust therapy techniques accordingly to ensure optimal outcomes. Educate patients and their families about communication disorders, treatment goals, and home practice exercises. Maintain detailed documentation of assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries in compliance with healthcare regulations. Stay current with advances in speech therapy practices, medical terminology, anatomy knowledge, and physiology relevant to speech-language pathology. Qualifications Valid licensure or certification as a Speech-Language Pathologist in the relevant state or region. Prior school experience or work within pediatric settings is highly desirable. Experience working with children in early intervention programs is preferred. Strong knowledge of speech therapy techniques, patient assessment methods, and medical terminology related to communication disorders. Understanding of anatomy and physiology pertinent to speech production and swallowing functions.
