Production Maintenance Technician

PRODUCTION MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN RESPONSIBLE TO: CEO/Plant Manager FUNCTION: Primary responsibility is to maintain and service all equipment needs of the manufacturing division; assists with production operations including fixture and training aid fabrication. Be a team player and sew when requested by manager. SPECIFIC DUTIES: Maintains a system for routine and repetitive preventive maintenance, repairs, renovations and production equipment requirements as required by ISO9000. Tracks and records all machine repair parts and issues reports as requested. Sets up new equipment and performs operational walk-through with new equipment. Maintains air compressors and air distribution system. Maintains and services all production equipment both preventive and emergent. Helps design and fabricate production and/or adaptive fixtures used in manufacturing. Investigates and assists in purchase of production machinery and equipment within the facility as well as all supplies and spare parts. Responsible for maintaining internal and external security systems. Responsible for day-to-day maintenance work which may include carpentry, electrical, plumbing, & HVAC. Participates, as appropriate, in ISO related duties. Performs other related duties as needed or assigned. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILILTIES: Demonstrated knowledge of mechanical repair and electrical diagnostics; demonstrated skill in identification and troubleshooting with regard to mechanical and electrical equipment; ability to problem solve and work independently; ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously; ability to read drawings, mechanical and electrical; knowledgeable in HVAC and air compressor maintenance and air delivery systems. Ability to utilize computer programs such as Excel, Outlook, and Word. Must be able to work with others, both management and non-management, within and outside the organization. Willingness and ability to work non-traditional hours as needed or assigned to ensure that production deadlines are met. Physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma and five (5) years’ experience in the maintenance field. Experience in an industrial sewing environment strongly preferred. (Formal technical training in electrical or mechanical maintenance may be substituted for experience.) Support Enterprises, Inc.
