OverviewLabela is seeking certified U.S. medical coders for high-level coding and documentation consulting. You will serve as a subject matter expert to validate, refine, and audit the coding logic and documentation reasoning of frontier AI models. This is a flexible, remote role designed for practicing coders and auditors to influence the accuracy and compliance of medical AI at scale.Key ResponsibilitiesCoding Logic Auditing: Review and refine AI-generated code assignments to ensure alignment with ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, CPT, and HCPCS LevelHigh-Complexity Validation: Provide expert-level ground truth for full chart abstractions, including E/M level selection, modifier application, MS-DRG and APC assignment, and HCC risk adjustment capture.Compliance Oversight: Identify unbundling, upcoding, undercoding, NCCI edit violations, and medical necessity gaps in AI outputs that could create audit exposure or claim denials.Strategic Consulting: Advise on the development of AI-driven coding, CDI, and revenue cycle support tools across care settings.QualificationsCredentials: Active certification from AAPC or AHIMA, including CPC or CCS.Experience: Minimum of 2 years of production coding, auditing, or CDI experience in inpatient, outpatient, or professional fee settings.Location: Must be based in the United States.Communication: Ability to provide concise, technical rationale for code assignments and to cite the specific guideline or payer policy supporting each decision.Position DetailsEnvironment: 100% RemoteCommitment: Flexible, project-based hours designed to fit around a full-time coding schedulePay Rate: $30/hourHow to ApplyVisit www.labela.ai to submit your application.
