About Us
The Sierra Schools are operated by Specialized Education Services, Inc. (SESI). SESI Schools provide specialized education programming for K-12 students who require additional educational and positive behavioral
The Opportunity
The Paraprofessional/Behavior Aide will support one student as determined by their Individualized Education Plan (IEP). The Paraprofessional/Behavior Aide will focus primarily on providing customized behavior support and teaching life skills. Every child deserves to reach their full potential and we’re looking to hire an exceptional team member who will play an essential role in fueling student success.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Work one on one with the student to meet goals set forth in their IEP, providing accommodations and modifications as necessary
Assist in development and modification of behavior support plans as needed
Implement behavior support plans; record and track data on behaviors, progress to goals, and incidents
Utilize behavior support and intervention strategies
Implement de-escalation techniques, crisis management, and physical restraint if necessary to maintain the safety of students and staff
Foster a positive and inclusive environment that encourages the development of appropriate social and behavioral skills
Supervise student and ensure they are always monitored, including to and from appropriate locations within the school
Work in collaboration with interdisciplinary team members to ensure consistent implementation of behavior support plans
Provide personal care support; feeding, toileting, and medication reminders may be required
Light lifting, walking, and/or climbing stairs may be required
Qualifications
High School Diploma required
Experience working with youth preferred
