Simulation Software Engineer (SIM)LocationCan be located in Houston, TX or Denver, COAbout the RoleJoin a team developing advanced spacecraft simulation environments supporting NASA's Artemis program and future human spaceflight missions. This role focuses on the design, development, integration, and sustainment of high-fidelity simulation systems used for software testing, mission rehearsal, astronaut training, system verification, and mission operations support.The successful candidate will contribute to simulation architecture, spacecraft subsystem modeling, telemetry generation, command processing, and distributed simulation environments supporting spacecraft development and operations.ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and maintain spacecraft simulation software and supporting frameworksDevelop models representing spacecraft systems, vehicle behavior, and mission scenariosSupport distributed simulation architectures and simulation interoperabilityDevelop telemetry generation and command simulation capabilitiesIntegrate simulation environments with software, hardware, and mission operations systemsSupport software-in-the-loop and hardware-in-the-loop test activitiesAnalyze simulation accuracy, performance, and fidelitySupport mission rehearsals, test campaigns, and system validation activitiesCollaborate with flight software, systems engineering, integration, and operations teamsRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, or related technical discipline5+ years of experienceExperience developing complex software applicationsStrong programming skills in C++, Python, Java, or similar languagesExperience with simulation, modeling, or real-time software systemsStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsAbility to work within multidisciplinary engineering teamsPreferred QualificationsSpacecraft or aerospace simulation experienceModeling & Simulation (M&S) experienceFlight dynamics or vehicle modeling experienceHardware-in-the-loop (HIL) or Software-in-the-loop (SIL) testingHLA, Federate, or distributed simulation architecturesHuman spaceflight, spacecraft, or mission operations experienceActive or previous security clearanceIdeal BackgroundsModeling & Simulation • Flight Dynamics • Spacecraft Software • Aerospace Software • Mission Simulation • Vehicle Modeling • Digital Engineering
