Job DescriptionFor Baker County High School Students Only Program BackgroundFlorida Blue established the Partners in Education for Business Success (PEBS) program in 1991 to offer junior and senior business-track high school students hands-on experience in a real business environment and increase their knowledge of health care. Through this program, Florida Blue seeks to develop highly skilled workers who can continue their involvement with Florida Blue after graduation.Required Work Experience0-1 year of related work experience or equivalent combination of transferable experience and education. Current High School Student. Achieves acceptable 2.5 GPA. No disciplinary issues. Familiarity with general computer hardware and software. Program ObjectivesTo demonstrate commitment to community involvement and populations of area high schoolsTo prepare participants for corporate environment and cultureTo develop participants’ foundational business skillsTo develop a pipeline of potential full-time employeesTo expand sources for qualified applicantsTo fill entry-level positions and provide possibility of a continuing relationship with Florida Blue after graduation Participant EligibilityHave and maintain a minimum cumulative state GPA of 2.5Be at least 15 years of age and in the 11th or 12th gradeProvide three recommendations from teachers or school administratorsHave an outstanding attendance and student behavioral recordApplication ProcessThe PEBS High School application process includes submitting a completed student information packet and applying online via the Florida Blue website.Essential FunctionsTimely and accurate processing of claims via Diamond and Claims Connect.Perform online edit resolution of claims.Key provider claims (Institutional and Professional).Meet departmental production and quality standards.Identify, document, and share knowledge for improvement to processes and products.General Physical DemandsSedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally to move objects.
