Bioinformatics Scientist- Computational Biology
Job Summary:The company is seeking a skilled Bioinformatics Analyst III to support cross-functional data science initiatives focused on in silico perturbation analysis, toxicogenomics, and mechanistic profiling. This role will contribute to predictive modeling and comparative analysis frameworks used to evaluate drug targets, drug combinations, and biological signatures across diverse experimental systems. The ideal candidate will have strong computational expertise, experience with omics data analysis, and a solid understanding of machine learning methodologies.Key Responsibilities:• Support perturbation analyses to identify and rank promising drug targets and drug combinations for efficacy prediction• Contribute to the development of combination signature estimation methods and comparative ranking frameworks• Ingest, clean, preprocess, and integrate large-scale multi-modal omics datasets for downstream analysis• Develop and execute computational workflows using statistical and machine learning approaches• Apply artificial intelligence and machine learning methods, including large language model-based tools, to accelerate analysis and workflow development• Collaborate with scientific and technical teams to translate biological questions into computational solutions• Perform data visualization, statistical interrogation, and reproducible analysis using custom scripts and workflows• Execute and troubleshoot complex computational analyses while maintaining strong documentation practices• Work within HPC or cloud-based computing environments to support scalable and parallelized analyses• Communicate analytical findings and technical insights clearly to cross-functional stakeholdersRequired Qualifications:• Master’s degree with 5+ years of experience or PhD in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Computer Science, Biostatistics, AI/Machine Learning, Computational Genetics, or a related quantitative discipline• Strong proficiency in R or Python programming languages• Experience processing and analyzing RNA-seq, imaging datasets, CRISPR screens, or other genomic and next-generation sequencing data• Experience developing custom scripts and functions for omics data analysis and visualization• Knowledge of machine learning fundamentals including model selection, training, testing, and cross-validation• Experience working in HPC or cloud computing environments for parallel computing• Ability to execute computational analysis plans using statistical, algorithmic, and AI/ML-based approaches• Familiarity with large language model-based tools or coding assistants for workflow development• Strong analytical, documentation, problem-solving, and communication skills• Ability to independently drive analysis initiatives within project scopePreferred Qualifications:• Experience supporting drug discovery or translational research initiatives• Exposure to toxicogenomics and mechanistic profiling workflows• Experience integrating multi-modal biological datasets across multiple experimental systems• Familiarity with biological signature ranking and comparative analysis frameworksBenefits:The Company offers the following benefits for this position, subject to applicable eligibility requirements: medical insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, 401(k) retirement plan, life insurance, long-term disability insurance, short-term disability insurance, paid parking/public transportation, paid time off, paid sick and safe time, hours of paid vacation time, weeks of paid parental leave, and paid holidays annually – as applicable.Pay Range: $50/hr to $60/hr
