Job Description Location: Durham, NCSchedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 6:00 PMNo Weekends RequiredPay: $17.00/hour starting pay with opportunity for hire at $20.00/hourBenefits Upon Hire: Full Union Benefits and Pension PlanPosition Type: Contract-to-HirePosition OverviewWe are seeking dependable and hardworking Material Handlers/Record Center Specialists to join a busy records management and warehouse operation in Durham, NC. This is a physically active role ideal for individuals who enjoy staying on their feet and working in a fast-paced environment. Successful candidates will be responsible for moving, organizing, lifting, and processing storage boxes, files, books, binders, backup tapes, and other materials while maintaining accuracy and productivity standards.This position offers a clear path to permanent employment, increased pay, union benefits, and a pension plan.ResponsibilitiesProcess incoming and outgoing orders accurately and efficiently.Lift, carry, move, and arrange storage boxes, bins, and totes throughout the facility.Read labels and locate materials using a computerized inventory tracking system.Operate handheld scanners to track and manage inventory.Load, unload, and transport materials using hand carts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment.Build, load, and shrink-wrap pallets for shipment.Load boxes onto pallets and assist with loading pallets onto trucks.Maintain organization and cleanliness within the warehouse and storage areas.Follow all safety procedures and company policies.Physical RequirementsThis is a highly physical position requiring frequent:Walking, standing, kneeling, squatting, stooping, bending, and twistingLifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling materials throughout the workdayClimbing and balancing on laddersWorking on concrete and uneven surfacesHandling boxes weighing between 10 and 100+ pounds without assistanceMoving materials up and down inclines and stairsQualificationsAbility to read and write in English.Previous warehouse, material handling, loading/unloading, or inventory experience is a plus but not required.Comfortable performing physically demanding work throughout an entire shift.Ability to safely operate pallet jacks, hand trucks, and other material handling equipment.Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures.Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.Company DescriptionSkySource Solutions believes in attaining success.
