CNC Programmer Job Description
Manko Window Systems in Aurora Co, is seeking an experienced CNC Programmer/Operator. CNC programmers are responsible for creating and maintaining the computer files which control our CNC machines. CNC programmers must have an understanding of computer programming languages, an understanding on how these machines work, and the ability to operate them. Manko Window Systems has several different types of Emmegi CNC machines (Phantomatic T3A, Phantomatic T3 Star, Diamant, Quadra L2)
Duties and Responsibilities include:
Read and interpret technical drawings and set up the machines in accordance with these drawings
Identify potential problems with work orders and flag for further review
Use computer software (CAMPlus – form of AutoCAD) to model cutting paths and program machines accordingly
Customize existing programs to meet specific needs of clients
Operate CNC machines to produce product using specified programs
Perform quality assurance tests to ensure products meet design specifications
Monitor and adjust machine cutting paths or settings to optimize production while maintaining quality
Consider tools required to cut particular materials and program machines accordingly
Troubleshoot and resolve problems with machines as they arise
Record job specifications such as materials used, cutting speeds, feeds, depths, time spent on projects
Train & coordinate with operators on how to properly operate CNC machines and programs
Qualifications (Required):
High School Diploma or equivalent
Familiarity and skill with interpreting technical drawings & blueprints
Skilled at troubleshooting & resolving mechanical or logistical problems that arise
Previous experience working in a manufacturing setting
Qualifications (Preferred):
Associate degree, vocational education or equivalent work experience preferred
Required Skills / Abilities:
Have strong attention to detail
Ability to work independently & closely follow directions is essential
Strong math skills and the ability to perform and convert fractions & decimals
Be able to read a tape measure
Be able to read and do basic math
Ability to prioritize tasks
Some heavy lifting is required
CNC Operation: 1 year (Preferred)
CNC programming: 1 year (Preferred)
