Kitch Attorneys & Counselors is looking for motivated and hardworking individuals to join our defense-oriented firm as a Paralegal with 2-3 years of experience in Medical Malpractice and Litigation . Candidates will be supporting our practice by preparing documents like affidavits and legal correspondence, as well as organizing and maintaining files and attorney schedules. You will also be asked to file pleadings with court clerks and help prepare for trials by organizing exhibits and assisting with other tasks as required.To be successful in this role, you will need to be proficient with Microsoft Office applications such as Word and Excel and willing to learn our document management system. You will also need to be able to multitask effectively and thrive in a busy, team-oriented environment. Strong time management and organization is a must.Paralegal Responsibilities:Preparing affidavits, legal correspondence and other documents for attorneysOrganizing and maintaining documents in a paper or electronic filing systemMeeting with clients, attorneys, and other professionals to talk about case detailsFiling pleadings with court clerkSchedule meetings and depositions, keeping attorney schedules efficient and up-to-dateHelping prepare for trial by organizing exhibits and assisting with other tasks as neededContact and coordination of medical expert reviewsInvestigating facts and laws of cases and searching public records and other resources to prepare cases and determine causes of actionDirecting and coordinating law office activity, including delivery of subpoenasGathering and analyzing statutes, decisions, and legal articles, codes, documents and other dataCalling on witnesses to testify at hearingsKeeping law library up-to-date by monitoring legal volumesParalegal Requirements:Minimum of Associate degreeProficient with Microsoft Office, specifically Outlook, Word, and ExcelStrong oral and written communication skillsExcellent organizational skillsMust be able to effectively multi-task, manage time-sensitive documents and have exceptional organizational skills in a fast-paced environmentMust be able to function effectively in a busy, team-oriented environmentOffice administration experience
