The trainee will work closely with experienced installers to learn the proper techniques and safety practices required to effectively install various types of shutters.Key Responsibilities & DutiesAssist experienced installers with the installation of hurricane shutters and related protection systems, including roll-down, accordion, and panel shutters.Participate in hands-on training to learn proper installation techniques, safety practices, and quality standards.Prepare job sites by unloading materials, organizing tools, measuring areas, and staging equipment for efficient installations.Support the accurate assembly and installation of shutter systems according to specifications, drawings, and company procedures.Learn to read and interpret basic work orders, measurements, and installation instructions.Safely operate hand and power tools under supervision.Follow all safety protocols, including PPE use and jobsite safety requirements.Assist with sealing, anchoring, and securing shutters to ensure performance and durability.Maintain a clean, organized, and professional job site, including care of tools, materials, and customer property.Assist with troubleshooting and adjustment of installed systems as needed.Travel to residential and commercial job sites and assist with loading/unloading company vehicles.Communicate effectively with lead installers and supervisors regarding job progress, material needs, and issues.Demonstrate continuous learning, reliability, and a strong work ethic to progress toward Installer certification.Provide professional, customer-focused service and consistently represent Storm Smart’s brand, values, and service standards on every job.To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily.
