Position Title: AmeriCorps Kentucky College Coach – Coordinator of Civic & Community Engagement and the Bonner Program Location: 600 West Walnut Street, Danville, KY 40422 | Centre CollegeService Term: Full-Time (FT) Term of Service, September 1, 2026 to August 31, 2027Hours: 37.5 hours/week, Monday-Friday (some evenings and weekends may be required)Living Allowance/Pay: $1810 per month in living allowance, less FICA and other applicable taxes. (Income is excluded from SNAP, KY Medicaid, and Section 8)Benefits: Healthcare and childcare eligibility, federal student loan forbearance eligibility, professional development, and an education award of up to $5000 upon completing service (depending on the number of months of service) for members beginning service in September. Members can also apply for SNAP, health and child care benefits as needed, per AmeriCorps program guidelines. Centre’s Office of Civic and Community Engagement provides opportunities for Centre students, faculty and staff to engage with local communities through service and civic action.The founding mission for the Bonner Program is to provide diverse low-income, under-represented, and first generation students with the opportunity to attend college, while engaging their talents and education in building and supporting communities.Position Description: The Kentucky College Coach program is an AmeriCorps program administered by Serve Kentucky and EngageKY (formerly Kentucky Campus Compact) and funded by AmeriCorps, the Agency.The Kentucky College Coach will work collaboratively with faculty, staff, students, and community partners to help increase the capacity for institutions to help students persist and graduate through direct mentoring/coaching/tutoring, support of high-impact practices, and/or providing service to others (on- or off-campus community service). Responsibilities:BONNER FOCUSED·      Provide direct mentoring and support to the 60 students in Centre College’s Bonner Program. This will be done through regular one-on-one meetings with students, utilizing Navigate to keep appropriate notes and refer students to other resources on campus such as tutoring, counseling, or financial aid. ·      Assist with program management by leading weekly All Bonner meetings, weekly Bonner Leadership Team meetings; advising Site Leaders and a student-led Mini Grants Committee; assist with Bonner cornerstone events like the First Year Trip, Sophomore Exchange, Junior Legacy Projects, and Senior Presentations of Learning; collect, review, and upload Community Learning Agreements; facilitate accountability meetings with students; oversee Summer of Service; collecting rising senior fund proposals ·      Attend all Bonner Foundation required meetings, both virtual and in-person.·      Review and update the handbook for community partners that host Bonner students, providing necessary information about the goals of the program and resources available, as well as how they can best support students in their role as co-educators.·      Attend three funded in-person trainings throughout the service year and monthly virtual trainings. Other professional development may be available. Training may not exceed 20% of reported time.Reporting Requirements: Members are required to submit monthly activity reports to help measure impact as well as bi-weekly time sheets.Desired Skills and Characteristics:·      Excellent written and oral communications skills in English·      Experience working with low-income, diverse college students·      Skill in advising and guiding students both individually and in groups·      Ability to work independently·      Driver’s License and willingness to drive, including 15-passenger vansPlease note that there are prohibited activities as outlined by AmeriCorps. For more information, please see Code of Federal Regulations §2520.65.Non-Discrimination Statement: Northern Kentucky University (NKU) acts as Kentucky Campus Compact’s fiscal agent. NKU seeks excellence by enriching its educational environment and culture through the diversity of its administration, faculty and staff and by embracing inclusiveness, equity, and global awareness in all dimensions of its work.
