As the world’s largest manufacturer of fire equipment, we make sure our vehicles, production teams, and service personnel are ready to do what is necessary to keep communities safe.Position SummaryThe Quality Manager- South Dakota is responsible for driving and maintaining excellence in product and process quality for Rosenbauer Motors, ensuring compliance with company standards, regulatory regulations and customer expectations. This role also involves close collaboration with the RBA Director of Quality & EHS to ensure alignment and implementation of Rosenbauer America and Rosenbauer International quality initiatives at the site level. The Quality Manager- South Dakota, will manage and lead the Quality Control team to complete their responsibilities. This will include developing/implementing any programs or tools to continuously improve the overall Quality Management System.Essential FunctionsAll employees are required to support Rosenbauer’s Mission, Vision, and Values. Quality Assurance, Process Control & Continuous Improvement:Develop, implement and sustain robust process controls to ensure consistent product quality. Establish and develop quality assurance, including inspection plans, testing methods, and acceptance criteria.Drive preventive measures by proactively identifying risks through data analysis and process audits. Ensure timely and effective resolution of quality issues by leading root cause analysis and implementing corrective and preventive actions. Monitor and analyze key performance indicators related to product and process quality, reporting trends and initiating improvements where required.Collaborate with production, engineering and supply chain to integrate quality initiatives into all stages of the production process.Work closely with RMN, RBM Quality Managers to support Corrective Action / Preventative Action (CAPA) program and drive long-term resolutions.Actively participate in Vendor Management with RSD/RBA Supply Chain teams.Quality Management System:Maintain ISO 9001 standard and support audits.Ensure proper documentation, implementation and monitoring of the quality management system. Conduct regular internal audits and facilitate external audits by certification bodies.Department ObjectivesManage and oversee the workflow, scheduling, and output of the Quality Control team.Schedule and coordinate internal and 3rd party testing of Apparatus.Implement quality control programs to improve quality (e.g. calibrating tools, certifying gages, data analysis etc.).Maintain training and department knowledge level to ensure compliance with the NFPA and other applicable standards.Verify all Quality Control inspections (e.g. In-Process, QC Final) have been completed for each truck, with clear documentation stored in an organized way. Perform other duties and responsibilities as required by the Director of Quality & EHS to meet the needs of the department.QualificationsKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (KSA’s): The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.KKnowledge, Education, And/or ExperienceAssociate degree in manufacturing related focus required.ISO Auditing Certification required.5+ years working in a quality department required.Previous experience managing personnel in a production setting preferred.Proficient understanding of Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and Control Plans, with the ability to support risk identification and process control activities.Knowledge of a fire apparatus construction and testing preferred.SSkillsLanguage:Able to read and work from blueprints/spec books.Able to effectively communicate goals and direction to a team. Able to follow written and verbal directions.Able to read and interpret documents such as ISO documentation, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
