The Lead Audio Video Technician will be responsible for designing, installing, and maintaining AV systems, troubleshooting technical issues, and providing support for lighting control, projectors, video conferencing, and other related technologies. The technician will ensure high-quality audio and visual experiences for clients and work closely with the team to meet project requirements.Duties and ResponsibilitiesProjector, flat panel, and screen installation and calibrationManage van stock, tools, maintenance, and appearanceMeet with project manager to ensure timeline and expectationsCommunicate effectively with and take direction from Lead Technicians and Project ManagerReview sales orders, product lists, and scope of work prior to deploying equipmentResponsible for all aspects of onsite installation of AV systemsSet up, pre-configure, and program networks, control systems, cameras, and NVRsCommunicate with Project Manager on schedule and expected completion datesProvide daily updates to project documentation and work orders in job management softwareEnter accurate time clock entries and job costingMake decisions and be accountable for Time and MaterialsParticipate in on-call rotation as requiredLocal travel to job sites required; occasional out-of-town travel for clients with multiple residences or specialized projectsMaintain fiscal responsibility for all assigned assets and propertyDeliver excellent customer service, including working with high-profile and high-demand customersSafeguard client confidentiality and ensure network/home securityKnowledge / Skills / AbilitiesMinimum of 4+ years of experience in AV installation or similar industryComprehensive understanding of all systems, including audio, video, security, lighting, and their seamless integrationProgramming experience tailored to AV requirementsAbility to interpret home schematics, plans, and blueprintsProficiency in low-voltage wiring and connectivity standardsProven troubleshooting skillsExperience with rough-in and trim-out work, preferably in custom integrationKnowledge of panelized lighting systems—or willingness to learn—is highly valuedQualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or certification in low voltage systems preferredControl4 certification—or willingness to become certified—is highly desirableAbility or willingness to become an Alarm Qualified AgentContinuing education in audio, video, security, and lighting systems is essentialStrong communication skills and ability to collaborate within a team environmentBasic computer proficiency and ability to become proficient in in-house job management softwareValid driver’s license, clean driving record, and passing criminal background check requiredSecurity license or similar credentials preferredPhysical RequirementsAbility to stand, stoop, or bend for prolonged periodsAbility to lift and carry up to 60 poundsAbility to work in confined spaces and at ladder heightAbility to work in diverse environmental conditions, including extreme temperaturesSalaryPay range: $20 – $50 per hour, depending on experienceNote: This job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of all activities, duties, or responsibilities.
