Emergency Preparedness Analyst

Emergency Preparedness AnalystConcept Solutions is looking for an Emergency Preparedness Analyst to be responsible for national emergency preparedness and response activity, policy, procedures, processes and exercises. This position supports the Emergency Preparedness and Response Division (AXE-500) at the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Headquarters in Washington, District of Columbia with deliberate and crisis action emergency planning projects and incident management.
The person in this role will serve as a key member of the AXE-500 team, contributing to national-level emergency planning projects, and incident management. This role is vital to ensuring organizational readiness for all-hazard incidents and for planned Special Event Assessment Rating (SEAR) level and National Special Security Event (NSSE) events.
Responsibilities include:
Support and conduct emergency operations planning and coordination, serving in the role of FAA headquarters Emergency Incident Coordinator (EIC), or alternate EIC, as required, for NSSEs, significant incidents, or exercises
Prepare FAA national-level Spot Reports and Situation Reports for NSSEs, significant incidents, or exercises
Contribute to the development of FAA emergency operations plans, orders and handbooks
Assist in planning, conducting, controlling, and evaluating FAA participation in National Exercise Program exercises, as well as other interagency and internal exercises
Develop after-action reports and improvement plans following exercises and real-world events, and track improvement plan implementation
Requirements include:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Mathematics, Operations Research, Statistics, Engineering, or a related field from an accredited college or university and 5 years of relevant experience.
An additional 8 years of experience can replace the degree requirement.
Basic knowledge of homeland security structure, doctrine and plans (National Response Framework, National Incident Management System, and emergency operations/incident management at a Federal agency level)
Knowledge of Federal interagency process or military staff experience
Experience collaborating across office and agency lines to accomplish a common goal/mission
Basic knowledge or experience with the National Exercise Program, Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program as a planner, executor, controller/evaluator of discussion-based, functional and full-scale exercises
Basic knowledge or experience with the National Continuity Program and Federal Continuity Directives and National Doctrine requirements
Ability to communicate clearly, both orally and in writing, and to prepare concise, accurate briefings and reports
Hold, or be eligible to obtain, a TS/SCI clearance
Proficient in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, etc.) and SharePoint-based applications
Ability to work on-call, nights, weekends, and holidays as required during a NSSE, an emergency/significant incident, or an exercise
Amount of travel required: 10%
Compensation: $75K to $83K
