Product Development Makeup Associate

DescriptionThis role is responsible for contributing to all phases of new product development and product reformulation processes from concept to consumer. This individual must be innovative and creative with a keen awareness of global color and industry trends. This position requires a solid understanding of product development fundamentals with an expertise in prestige color cosmetics along with the ability to apply strategic thinking throughout ideation and conceptualization.Key ResponsibilitiesFollow trends, recent competitive launches & research ingredient stories to create competitive analysis to ensure all project ideas/concepts meet the brand's key identity, as well as stays relevant in a vast and growing industryTrack & take notes in all meetings for internal & external team alignment and referenceAssist team with pulling shade prototypes and lineups for programsAttend vendor presentations & assist team with evaluating all samplesContribute to tracking all stages of new product development from concepting, brief writing, communicating with lab on submissions, communicating with internal/crossfunctional stakeholders on development, evaluating submissions, formula approval and through commercializationLog, label and organize all product submissionsCoordinate and organize clinical and sensory test samplesCoordinate and organize Internal Panel TestsPull products and set up for all meeting requestsEvaluate all 1st Production batches and re⁃establish Production StandardsEvaluate all finished goods retains to ensure quality is on parCreate and present Seasonal Mood boards to Senior ManagementMay be required to travel to labs internationally and domestically to help establish and approve shade lineupsReview product swatches, product application & product imagery with the Photography team to ensure that it is accurate and representativeProvide/find Pantones, Shade Descriptions for all Complexion programsLead and coordinate all sampling needsPurchasing and maintaining the competitive libraryQualificationsMinimum 3 years color prestige color cosmetics product development experiencePassionate about the beauty industryDemonstrated skills with project management and knowledge of new product development lifecycleAbility to execute under accelerated timeframes and quickly adapts to change in prioritiesProven ability to take complicated information and summarize the key messages for a variety of audiencesAbility to work in a fast⁃paced, often⁃changing, collaborative environmentExcellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with exceptional interpersonal skills
