Position Type:Student Support ServicesDate Posted:4/1/2026Location:Saint George Elementary SchoolDate Available:07/28/2026Closing Date:04/15/2026Instructional CoachPosition PurposeUnder the general supervision of the school Principal, to assist the Principal in providing leadership and supervision in administering the educational program of the school to promote the educational development and achievement of students in accordance with Board of Education policies, administrative procedures, rules and regulations, and applicable law.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:Knowledge of learning styles and skill in using varied teaching methods to address student learning styles.Knowledge base and/or experience working with adult learners.Demonstration of excellent skills in oral and written communication with students, parents, and others.Demonstrate knowledge of the curriculum in the grade levels assigned.Possess knowledge of current educational and evidence-based educational research.Demonstrate expertise in quality instruction, learning processes, assessment, and the ability to infuse reading strategies into content area instruction.Ability to work effectively with peers, administrators, and others.Ability to observe instruction and provide feedback.Ability to model effective teaching strategies.Ability to provide in-service training to teachers, ensuring that presentations are of high quality.Ability to plan, implement, and monitor special programs for maximum effectiveness.Ability to effectively assess levels of student achievement, analyze test results, and prescribe actions for improvement.Ability to manage, interpret, and share data.Possess exceptional presentation, interpersonal, and time management skills.PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Instructional Planning and Data Analysis.Assist teachers in collecting and analyzing data for instructional planning.Assist teachers in planning for short-term and long-term student needs.Assist teachers in planning for effective use of instructional time.Assist in identifying the learning needs of every student and provide support to meet those needs.Attend and support the facilitation of all Collaborative Planning Meetings with grade-level teams or departments.Provide leadership and oversight for teachers in the collection, disaggregation, and analysis of data. Screeners, diagnostic, formative, and summative assessment data will be used to plan for and enhance classroom instruction through remediation, acceleration, and enrichment.Share in the responsibility of monitoring MTSS with the school administration and the counselor.Work with the school MTSS team to analyze progress monitoring data and develop ideas to address student progress.Support parent/teacher communication.Collaborate with the school principal to identify areas for instructional improvement and develop plans to address those needs.Assist teachers in the implementation and evaluation of their curriculum.Assist teachers in providing quality learning experiences for students, focused on meaningful, relevant, and engaging learning activities.Assist teachers in ensuring that instruction aligns with content standards and school/system expectations and protocols.Assist teachers in acquiring and/or improving teaching strategies and interactions with students that increase student engagement in the learning process.Assist teachers in creating a positive learning environment in which students are actively engaged in the learning process.Encourage teacher growth and support professional learning initiatives by providing in-class follow-up and coaching based on the needs of individual teachers, by conducting walk-through observations (These are not Evaluation Observations.)Collaborating and planning with teachers to improve instructional practice through the use of peer observations, recording lessons, and self-reflection.Provide teams and individual classroom teachers with coaching and support to ensure teacher collaboration in all academic areas.Participate in, support, and facilitate (as needed) the delivery of professional learning opportunities for teachers and staff to improve their knowledge of content and instructional delivery skills in all academic content areas.Minimum QualificationsBachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university. Master's Degree preferred.Hold a valid Georgia teaching certificate.ExperienceMultiple years of successful teaching experience, preferably in more than one subject area and grade level.Important Note: Candidates selected for an interview by the hiring principal will need to provide the following:Current and most recent supervisor's name and contact informationTwo letters of recommendation OR two Applicant Recommendation Forms (from previous supervisors)Complete history of administrative and teaching experienceThe hiring administrator can not be a reference for you.
