A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.Opportunity:/nRN - PCU Stepdown/n/nJob Details:/n• Work 12-hour night shifts from 6:30 PM to 6:30 AM/n• Every other weekend requirement/n• Minimum of 2 holidays required during contract timeframe/n• Patient ratios of 1:4-5 for both day and night shifts/n• Must pass open book exam during orientation with 90% score to continue contract/n• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS/n• Must be competent with arterial lines/n• Required to titrate drips including Heparin, Nitro, Dopamine, Cardizem, Amiodarone, and insulin/n• Must read and interpret telemetry strips independently/n• Floating requirements to MedSurg or ICU to take PCU acuity patients/n• Navy blue scrub color requirement/n• One day of unit-specific orientation provided/n• Care for adult patients with cardiac med/surg, dialysis, cancer diagnosis, vascular, sepsis, respiratory conditions, stroke, post stent, post pacer placement, and renal failure/n• Work with equipment including overhead lifts, portable lifts, vein finders, bladder scanners, and high flow oxygen/n• Must be flexible, willing to learn, and accept feedback/n• Strong communication skills and team player mentality required/n• Serve diverse cultural populations including Hispanic and Somalian communities/n• Epic charting system used/n• Must live outside 50-mile radius and cannot be employed with CommonSpirit facilities/n• Artificial nails prohibited in patient care areas/n• 30-minute response time required if called back from on-call status/n/nFacility:/nThis healthcare facility operates a 40-bed Progressive Care Unit with an average daily census of 24 patients, providing intermediate-level care between medical/surgical and intensive care settings.
