This role plays a pivotal part in managing capital acquisitions by collaborating with internal and external partners across planning, budgeting, project execution, contracting, and transactional phases. The Director will develop and implement strategic procurement initiatives that optimize costs, maintain quality, and ensure regulatory compliance within a large, integrated healthcare delivery systemSummary Of Essential Duties And ResponsibilitiesStrategic Planning:Lead the indirect procurement function by developing and executing a comprehensive strategy to optimize spend across diverse non-clinical categoriesCollaborate with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to align procurement strategies with organizational goals and operational prioritiesUtilize data analytics and market intelligence to identify opportunities for cost savings, process improvements, and supplier consolidation Develop operating procedures, internal policies, and training guides to support consistent procurement practicesPartner with internal stakeholders to create scopes of work, request for proposals, and other solicitation documentsOperational PerformanceManage contracts and vendor relationships to ensure optimal pricing, service levels, and risk mitigationDrive cost-savings initiatives while maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations, organizational policies, and industry standardsManage capital procurement activities in coordination with internal and external partners throughout planning, budgeting, project management, and transactional phases Monitor supplier performance, manage risks, and resolve issues promptly to maintain uninterrupted service and supplyDevelop and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to savings, supplier performance, and process efficiencyPrioritize procurement activities to meet end-user deadlines and expectationsDevelop and deliver executive briefings to senior leadership, providing insights on supply chain performance, risk mitigation, and strategic opportunitiesPerform related duties as required to support departmental and organizational objectivesHuman Resource DevelopmentBuild, mentor, and lead a high-performing procurement team focused on operational excellence and professional growthFoster a collaborative and innovative team culture that encourages continuous learning and improvementImplement training programs to enhance team skills in strategic sourcing, contract management, and vendor relationsPromote effective communication and engagement across all levels of the organizationFinancial ManagementLead spend reduction initiatives and ensure effective financial management of indirect procurement budgetsCollaborate with finance and project teams to ensure accurate budgeting, forecasting, and financial reportingConduct procurement audits and risk assessments to maintain fiscal discipline and complianceUtilize financial data to track savings realization, cost avoidance, and return on investment Minimum Qualifications A Baccalaureate Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Management or other related discipline from an accredited college or university; and, Six years of satisfactory, full-time paid responsible experience in information processing, program management, systems development or related activity in a large governmental agency, hospital or health care facility, or hospital-related business firm, three years of which shall have been in a managerial capacity; or, A Master's Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science or other related discipline, and five years experience as outlined above, one of which must have been in a managerial capacity; or, A satisfactory equivalent combination of education and experience.Department PreferencesProven track record in managing complex indirect procurement functions within large, multifaceted organizations, ideally within healthcare or similarly regulated industries.Strong leadership capabilities, including the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels and drive cross-functional collaboration, are essential.Exceptional analytical and communication skills, combined with a deep understanding of procurement best practices, contract management, and capital acquisition processes.Results-driven mindset, commitment to operational excellence, and a passion for continuous improvement which will enable the successful candidate to effectively support the organization’s mission and strategic objectives.Strong ownership, advanced interpersonal and problem-solving skills, and a commitment to driving operational excellence and value across the organization.Business Indirect and Non-Clinical Spend CategoriesStrategic SourcingContract Negotiation Vendor ManagementProficiency in Excel, WORDEstablishing and Managing KPI’sCustomer ServiceProblem SolvingData Analytics How To ApplyIf you wish to apply for this position, please apply online by clicking the "Apply for Job" button.
