To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a Process Engineer located at our Sheldahl site in Northfield, Minnesota. Reporting to the Process Engineering Manager, the Process Engineer is responsible for process‑engineering capabilities focused on cost, quality and delivery improvements to support a manufacturing organization.
Responsibilities Use engineering skills to solve complex problems that lead to improved yield for existing manufacturing processes in our adhesive coating and lamination process.
Interact with production operators and utilize their feedback with the goal of implementing process improvements.
Use statistical analysis tools to make data‑driven decisions when working on product quality improvement projects.
Support 24/5 production manufacturing.
Work closely with the product engineering team to introduce new products to manufacturing that involve a diverse mix of materials and process steps.
Prepare justification, purchase and implement capital equipment for production.
Develop and maintain process documentation.
Provide equipment maintenance and repair support as required.
Lead cost improvement/reduction programs.
Review processing methods.
Interface with production on all activities associated with new process implementation and transfer.
Assist in the development of training and provide training to production personnel during new technology transfer.
Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field (Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Chemical Engineering preferred).
Lean and Six Sigma knowledge (cycle time, continuous improvement, DMAIC method) or eagerness to earn certification through on‑site training.
3years of experience in a high‑regulated environment (Medical, Automotive, Aerospace) within a high‑volume manufacturing environment.
Experience with screen printing, photo exposing, circuit etching, plating, or other processing.
Experience with AutoCAD, AutoCAD Inventor, and Microsoft Access is a plus.
Experience with PLC troubleshooting is a plus.
Advanced operations, technical and people and/or process skills as well as customer (external and internal) relationship skills.

Pay Range (Applicable to Minnesota): $59,000.00USD – $81,100.00USD per year.
