Job Description Process Launch Engineer Location: Marion, Illinois OverviewWe are seeking a Process Launch Engineer to support new product launches, manufacturing process development, and continuous improvement initiatives within a high-volume automotive manufacturing environment.This role is responsible for leading production launch activities, validating manufacturing processes, supporting equipment readiness, and ensuring quality and production targets are achieved during ramp-up. The ideal candidate will have strong troubleshooting ability, hands-on engineering experience, and the drive to improve manufacturing performance.This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing operation and play a key role in bringing new manufacturing processes into production.Key ResponsibilitiesLead manufacturing launch activities for new products and process changesDevelop, validate, and improve assembly, molding, welding, and testing processesSupport production readiness, equipment validation, and process implementationWork closely with manufacturing, quality, maintenance, and engineering teams to ensure successful launchesMonitor production performance including scrap, downtime, cycle times, and throughputTroubleshoot manufacturing and equipment issues using root cause analysis methodsConduct capability studies and analyse production data to improve process stabilitySupport pre-production trials and manufacturing line setup activitiesDevelop process documentation, specifications, and work instructionsCoordinate activities with tooling, machinery, and equipment suppliersAssist with capital equipment planning and implementationTrain production and maintenance teams on new processes and equipmentDrive continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, and productivityRequirementsBachelor's degree in Engineering or related field preferredAssociate degree with relevant automotive manufacturing experience also consideredExperience supporting manufacturing launches, process engineering, or production engineering within automotive or industrial environmentsStrong understanding of manufacturing equipment, pneumatics, hydraulics, and automation systemsPLC programming and troubleshooting experience preferredAbility to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical documentationStrong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilityHands-on engineering mindset with the ability to support manufacturing operations directlyExperience with Microsoft Office and engineering software tools such as SolidWorks preferredStrong communication and teamwork skillsWhat We're Looking ForA proactive engineer who enjoys solving manufacturing challengesSomeone comfortable working both on the production floor and in a technical environmentStrong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple prioritiesA team-oriented individual who thrives in fast-paced manufacturing operationsWork EnvironmentCombination of office and manufacturing floor environmentOccasional travel may be requiredFlexibility to support off-shift launches, equipment startups, and production downtime situations as neededCompensation & BenefitsCompetitive salary based on experienceMedical, dental, and vision coverage401(k) and retirement benefitsPaid vacation and holidaysTuition assistance opportunitiesCareer growth within a manufacturing engineering environment
