We have rapidly grown to over $1 billion in annual revenue and we're just getting started!Job Summary:The Competitive Intelligence Analyst will serve as the go-to person for reference data points from different competitors to inform our pricing strategy and tactics. This role will be responsible for all tasks related to competitive data including the research, gathering, analysis, and delivery of competitive insights and recommended actions/opportunities. The analyst will partner with our external data vendors to identify opportunities for adding value through respective relationships. This role will apply a combination of data science and advanced data management skills to create and build a database of confident competitive benchmarking for both exact and functional product matches.Analysts will also require strong communication skills to translate data-driven insights into actionable business recommendations. They are expected to work collaboratively across Zoro departments including Analytics, Finance, Marketing, and many others. As a core function of Zoro's business, pricing helps drive the success of multiple projects and initiatives. A successful candidate will demonstrate an ability to understand Zoro's unique business objectives and anticipate how pricing and competitive analysis can be used to achieve Zoro's mission.Duties and Responsibilities: Analyze competitive needs, surveying the market to define competitor coverage goals, resources to provide, and competitive strategies to implementLeverage Artificial Intelligence to increase efficiency and unlock new analytical capabilitiesInterpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques and develop/maintain reportingWork collaboratively across Zoro departments including Technology, Data Science, Category Management, Product, Finance, Marketing and many othersAssist in analytical projects that uncover actionable customer insights to guide short-term and long-term efforts on customer acquisition and retentionUse strong communication skills to present findings and recommendations up to executive level and build support for pricing initiativesAssist in external vendor management to identify additional opportunities to drive value and maintain efficient data use.Understand and research fundamental drivers of Zoro's success and partner cross functionally to test and learnAnalyze and identify areas where further data manipulations are needed to normalize the data across competitorsConduct primary and secondary research on competitors' prices and marketing strategy, understanding and assessing confidence factors for the matches receivedMinimum Qualifications:A Bachelor's degree is required in related fields such as Mathematics, Data Science, Business Intelligence, Statistics1+ years experience in Pricing, Analytics, Data Science or equivalent analytical fieldProficiency with SQL , R and/or PythonExperience in practical application of OpenAI, Gemini or other artificial intelligence APIsProven history of applying problem solving skills when working with limited data & resourcesStrong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracyCommunicating complex data analysis to both technical and non-technical stakeholdersPreferred Qualifications:Familiarity with Git, Docker, and Airflow is preferredPrevious experience on competitive intelligence/pricingTotal RewardsZoro's total compensation plan includes our Zoro Incentive Plan (ZIP) that is designed to foster and reward our team members for strong performance.
