Job SummaryResponsible for daily operation of an asphalt production plant, including safety, compliance, and quality control.Main ResponsibilitiesEmbrace the Company's safety culture, actively support all safety initiatives, and adhere to defined accountabilities implemented by the Safety Steering and Continuous Improvement teamsSupport, promote, and practice the Company core values, vision, and mission; follow code of ethics, workplace conduct, safety, and other established policiesEnsure the highest standards are achieved and maintained in terms of safety, quality, and efficiencyEffectively coordinate the day-to-day work environment and staff to ensure safety, regulatory, and production targets are metActively support and lead Company initiatives related to safety and employee developmentAssist with training, coaching and development of employees to perform at their highest levelMaintain effective relationships with internal/external customers, suppliers, and Company business groupsEffectively communicate in a professional manner in person, over the phone, and on company radio channelsEstablish plant production schedules to meet supply, schedule, and delivery needsUse computer system to enter and maintain data, manage schedules, prepare reports, and respond to e-mail correspondenceBatch and inspect loads to ensure consistency of mixCoordinate scheduling of plant equipment maintenanceOrder and maintain inventory of raw materials supplySafely operate company equipment, tooling, and vehicles as neededSkills10 or more years of experience in asphalt production operations and/or related role5 or more years of experience in a supervisory role preferredSelf-directed, results-oriented, and highly motivated, requiring minimal direct guidanceAbility to lead and motivate others; prior experience effectively managing a team preferredAbility to effectively manage multiple priorities, problem-solve, and work under consistent pressure of deadlinesBasic computer skills, including use of MS Office productsValid drivers' license and ability to maintain a clean motor vehicle record required; Class B commercial license preferred (Required)Physical RequirementsWear and maintain personal protective equipment (PPE) as requiredRegularly required to lift and /or move up to 50 pounds with or without assistanceRegularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feelRegularly required to communicate (talk and hear)Frequently required to stand; walk across uneven terrain; sit; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawlRegularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts and heavy machineryOccasionally required to work from heightsRegularly exposed to all outdoor weather conditions and loud noise; including some exposure to fumes or airborne particlesColas Inc. and its subsidiaries are an Equal Opportunity Employer.
