Java Developer

Akkodis is seeking a Java Developer to join our client's IT team in Mechanicsburg, PA. This is a great opportunity for a developer with 3–5 years of professional experience who has a strong background in Java, Spring Boot, SQL, relational databases, and enterprise application integrations.Pay Range: $55-$60/hr. on W2, The pay may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.The ideal candidate will work on business-critical applications that exchange information between court case management systems and external agencies. This role will involve a combination of Java development, database development, API/integration support, production troubleshooting, and maintenance of existing enterprise applications.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop, maintain, debug, and enhance Java/Spring Boot applications and REST APIs.Develop and maintain complex SQL queries, stored procedures, views, triggers, and database business logic.Work with SAP ASE/Sybase or comparable relational database platforms.Develop and support Spring Batch processes, scheduled workflows, and message-based integrations.Support REST APIs, IBM MQ, file/FTP integrations, and other enterprise integration workflows.Troubleshoot application issues, production incidents, data discrepancies, failed integrations, and performance issues.Analyze and resolve defects while maintaining existing business functionality and integration contracts.Perform database tuning, query optimization, data reconciliation, and data-quality troubleshooting.Monitor scheduled jobs and production processes and participate in a weekly on-call rotation.Implement targeted enhancements and controlled refactoring of legacy Java and database applications.Perform testing, debugging, code reviews, and validation before production releases.Collaborate with developers, DBAs, analysts, testers, and operations teams to deliver reliable solutions.Required Qualifications3–5 years of professional experience developing and supporting Java applications and relational databases.Strong hands-on experience with Java and Spring Boot.Experience developing REST APIs and enterprise integrations.Strong SQL/database development experience, including:Stored proceduresTriggersViewsComplex joinsQuery tuningData reconciliationDatabase troubleshootingExperience with SAP ASE/Sybase or a comparable relational database such as SQL Server or Oracle.Experience with Spring Batch, JDBC/JPA, and scheduled processing.Understanding of enterprise messaging such as IBM MQ or another messaging platform.Experience troubleshooting production applications, integrations, logs, and data-related issues.Working knowledge of Maven, unit testing, mocking frameworks, Git, and code review practices.Strong troubleshooting, communication, and problem-solving skills.Ability to take ownership of technical issues and deliver complete, tested solutions.If you are interested in this role, then please click APPLY NOW.
