Maintenance Facility Technician

Facility Maintenance TechnicianR+L Carriers is seeking a skilled and dependable Facility Maintenance Technician at our Pembroke Pines, FL Service Center. This role is essential to maintaining the safety, functionality, and appearance of our facilities. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of hands-on experience in electrical, plumbing, welding (steel), and carpentry trades. The candidate must also be proficient in steel welding for structural and equipment repairs. Company service vehicle (cart) and large tools/equipment (ladders, welder, drills, saws, and cutting torches) provided.Responsibilities:Perform routine maintenance and repairs across company facilities, including offices, dock/warehouse, and yard areasTroubleshoot and repair basic electrical systems (e.g., lighting, circuits, outlets)Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems (e.g., water lines, fixtures, drains)Weld and fabricate steel components and equipment (MIG and Stick welding)Perform general carpentry work, including framing, drywall, flooring, and cabinetry repairsEnsure all work and repairs meet safety and compliance standardsInspect equipment and facilities regularly and respond to maintenance requestsMaintain tools and equipment in good working conditionAssist in emergency repairs and snow/ice removal when necessaryCollaborate with the operations team to support shop and yard functionsRequirements:Minimum 2 years of experience in electrical, plumbing, welding (steel), and carpentryStrong (Mig/Stick) welding skills with steel, including fabrication and repairFamiliarity with hand and power tools and the ability to read blueprints/schematicsAbility to work independently and manage multiple tasks with minimal supervisionBasic knowledge of safety procedures and building codesValid driver's license with reliable transportationAbility to bend, lift and stoop without difficulty and work in varying weather conditionsBenefits: R+L Carriers offers an excellent compensation and comprehensive benefits package that includes Medical/Dental/Vision Insurance, 401(k) Retirement Plan with company matching contributions, Paid Vacation & Holidays, and vacation lodging at our exclusive employee resorts in Daytona Beach, FL, Big Bear Lake, CA, Pigeon Forge, TN, and Ocean Isle Beach, NC.About Us: R+L Carriers is a family owned, privately held transportation company founded in 1965.
