Our experienced team is dedicated to providing continuity of care in both inpatient and outpatient settings, ensuring that patients receive expert support every step of the way.The Patient Service Representative assumes a pivotal role in our practice relating directly and indirectly to patient satisfaction and to the ultimate success of the clinic. Given the integral nature of the position, the front office medical assistant's demeanor must be reflective at all times of the highest quality standards of professionalism exemplified by Southwest Pulmonary as a division of Sound Physicians. This role will serve as both the first and last point of contact for or patients.The perfect candidate must be a team player, highly motivated and demonstrate a positive attitude. This individual will assist in checking patients in/out, collecting copays, verifying benefits, scheduling procedures, answering phones, scheduling appointments and other duties as assigned.The Details: Full-Time, 100% In office: Mon-Fri, 8am-4:30pm/5pm, Dallas, TX 75231Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Answering and triaging incoming callsScheduling patient appointmentsTaking messages and routing to appropriate physicianEnsuring patient messages are addressed by the end of each dayPaging calls to physicians when necessaryPreparing patient charts for upcoming appointmentsConfirming appointments with patients a week in advanceAssisting anyone who approaches the front desk patients, vendors, etc.Verifying insurance and obtaining referrals if neededChecking patients in/outPrinting demographic update sheet on all scheduled patientsVerifying patient information is accurate and up to dateCollecting co-payments and outstanding balances at point of visitForwarding pre-certification requests to Medical AssistantEntering data for Daily BatchPrinting and working no-show and cancellations list weeklyInitiating correspondence to outside physicians regarding no-shows and cancellationsOverseeing coordination of daily tasksServing as point of contact for patient escalationsScheduling luncheons with Durable Medical Equipment (DME) representativesSorting and distributing faxes and mail as neededScanning and indexing new patient records and medical records as designatedOther duties as assignedValues:Work Ethic Dedication to getting the job done well and on time, regardless of circumstances, a can-do attitudeRelationship Building and Maintenance: The ability to create and nourish healthy, strong relationships, as the face of SoundTeamwork: Demonstrates the ability to pull people together into highly effective teams along with ability to work in a highly matrixed organizationCritical Thinking: Demonstrates the ability to be proactive, anticipate needs; ability to make good decisions with incomplete, ambiguous informationAdaptability Demonstrates flexibility and a willingness to change as circumstances evolve and be coachableResourcefulness Proactive willingness to utilize available information and tools to figure things out, not afraid to ask questions when necessaryCommitment Demonstrates a dedication to the job, project, organization, customer/clients, and co-workersStrategic Thinking : Demonstrates the ability to look at the big picture and proactively develop a plan of actionBeing Self-Motivated : Proactively jumps in to start a task or project with limited direction; asks to take on more responsibility and what is nextCollaboration: Demonstrates the ability to work well with others to accomplish a goal and get the work done; takes opinions of others into consideration; includes others in the decision-making processKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Knowledge of medical practice and care and insurance plan payersKnowledge of physician business procedures and medical terminologyKnowledge of front office customer service levelsKnowledge of medical equipment and instrumentsAbility to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, co-workers and vendorsAbility to read, write and communicate effectively with oral and written correspondenceAbility to exercise a degree of initiative and judgmentEducation and Experience:High school diploma, or equivalent and two years of healthcare experience2 years' experience in a medical office settingElectronic Health Record (EMR) experienceProficiency in the operation of a computer and other office equipmentSkill in identifying and resolving problemsAbility to use good reasoning and judgment and react calmly in emergency situationsPay Range:$18.00-$20.00 hourly.
