DescriptionWHAT YOU'LL DOJoin DES as a Professional Engineer and contribute to the continued growth of our structural team. We're looking for a motivated, detail-oriented engineer who values technical excellence and thrives in a collaborative environment. In this role, you’ll be involved in a broad spectrum of projects, developing well-crafted, high-performing structural designs.Perform structural design of projects, including executing calculations and analysis, preparing drawings, and drafting reportsResearch applicable codes, regulations, and requirementsCoordinate the structural design internally within the firm, with other disciplines and consultantsPerform Construction Administration, including responding to RFIs, reviewing submittals and conducting site visitsPrepare structural engineering specification sectionsProvide guidance and mentorship to junior team members, supporting professional development and knowledge sharingActively participate in professional development and mentoring by creating and growing industry connections through involvement in professional and marketing organizationsRequirementsPossession of a valid California Professional Engineer (PE) license, coupled with at least 5 - 7 years within the structural engineering fieldPassion for contributing to a variety of project types, including both building retrofits and new constructionsFamiliarity with relevant industry standards and codes Comprehensive understanding of all design and construction phasesOSHPD and DSA experience a plusStrong technical skills in CAD and RevitProficient in both manual and computerized analysis methodologiesBachelor’s or master’s degree with concentration in Structural EngineeringWork onsite in our Redwood City office Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, full time on site is strongly preferredMust be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without any restrictions or requirement of sponsorship now or in the futureThe typical pay range for this position is $90,000 - $120,000 in total compensation.
