Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) | Older Adult Program | Evening ShiftAddress: 2101 Belmont Ave, Philadelphia, PAEmployment Type: Part Time (16 hours per week)Schedule: Evening Shift 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM, one weekday per week plus every other weekend (16 hours per week)Work Setting: Fully OnsiteStarting Pay: $20.25 per hour plus eligible for a 10 percent shift differentialBonus: Sign on bonus eligible for evening shift onlyOverviewThe Behavioral Wellness Center at Girard is seeking dependable and motivated Behavioral Health Technicians (BHTs) to support a structured residential behavioral health program serving adults with serious mental illness and complex care needs. This program is designed for individuals who require a higher level of support and have not fully benefited from traditional outpatient or hospital-based services.The program provides a highly structured, therapeutic environment focused on stability, recovery, and improving daily functioning. Residents receive integrated care through a multidisciplinary team, with an emphasis on dignity, consistency, and individualized treatment planning.As a Behavioral Health Technician, you will play a key role in supporting daily routines, reinforcing treatment goals, and maintaining a safe and supportive environment while working closely with nurses and clinical staff.ImportantAll new hires must be able to attend a mandatory 5-day orientation Monday through Friday 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM before starting their schedule. Attendance is required for employment.Responsibilities• Provide direct care and behavioral support to residents• Assist with daily living activities including hygiene, meals, and mobility• Monitor resident behavior and report changes in condition• Support therapeutic, recreational, and group activities• Utilize de-escalation and trauma informed techniques during behavioral incidents• Document observations and interactions in the electronic health record• Reinforce individualized treatment plans and behavioral goals• Maintain a safe, clean, and structured environment• Accompany residents to appointments, activities, and meetings• Conduct routine rounds and support overall unit operationsQualifications• Bachelor's degree in Human Services or related field OR High School Diploma or GED with at least 2 years of direct care experience• 12 or more college credits in human services strongly preferred• Experience in behavioral health, mental health, or addiction services preferred• CPR certification required from a hands-on course• Must meet requirements under the Older Adults Protective Services Act• Bilingual English and Spanish a plusWhy Join Us• Competitive starting pay with shift differential• Sign on bonus for evening shift positions• Consistent part time schedule• Opportunity to grow within behavioral health and healthcare• Supportive and mission driven team environmentPre Employment and Workplace PolicyEmployment is contingent upon the successful completion of all pre-employment requirements, including a physical examination, background check, verification of employment, and drug screening.
