Operations Specialist
Position: Operations SpecialistWork Location: On-site in Clackamas, OregonDivision: Business Operations, FinanceReports to: Business ManagerHours: Part-time with potential to transition to full-timeSalary Range: Starting hourly wage: $25; commensurate with experiencePosition SummaryThe Operations Specialist is responsible for daily business and administrative operations at RMCC Development. While this role supports various aspects of the business, its primary function is accounts payable and receivable.Core DutiesManage daily accounts receivable operations: create and distribute invoices, record payments, and create reports.Manage daily accounts payable operations: record bills, ensure checks and electronic payments are prepared before invoice due dates, and communicate with vendors when required.Manage purchasing of general supplies and maintain positive relationships with vendors.Work closely with Property Manager(s) to ensure smooth operation at commercial sites and that RMCC Development is providing adequate support for tenants.Ensure that external communications are consistently accurate and up-to-date.Monitor inboxes for important communications from vendors, customers, regulators, and members of the community.Occasionally answer incoming phone calls on the main office line.Education and ExperienceRequired: Associate’s degree in business, accounting, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.Required: Possess, or the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. driving license.Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, or a related field.Preferred: Prior experience in accounts payable/receivable, procurement, operations, and/or customer service.Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesFamiliarity with the following platforms used by RMCC Development: Microsoft Windows, Office 365, Canva, and Google Workspace.Strongly preferred: Past experience with, or ability to learn and use enterprise applications such as Sage 50, SAP, Salesforce, HubSpot, or other industry-specific tools.Ability to communicate clearly and professionally over the phone and face-to-face.Knowledge of business writing and communications and the ability to write in a professional tone.Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with a variety of people from different industries and backgrounds.Physical RequirementsFrequently: sit, perform desk-based computer tasks; use fine manipulation and grasp; use a telephone; write by hand; sort and file paperwork.Frequently: stand and walk; twist; lift, carry, push, and pull objects that weigh up to 25 pounds.Occasionally: ability to attend events and activities around the Portland metropolitan area.Working ConditionsPrimarily task/office-based work; may require occasional visits to active construction sites and commercial spaces. Closed-toe shoes are required. PPE (hard hats, high-visibility clothing, etc.) will be provided if ever required.Work StandardsAll employees of RMCC Development are expected to maintain professionalism while working, especially when interacting with customers, vendors, or members of the community. Employees are expected to comply with all local and federal laws, ordinances, and procedures, including driving laws.
