NX CAD Designer/Engineer
Job ID# 1690StraCon Services Group, LLC is seeking an experienced NX CAD Designer/Engineer to support the implementation of Siemens Teamcenter services projects in the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Government Cloud Environment (GCE) for our Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) customer. The position is located in Patuxent River, MD. Remote work is authorized. The NX CAD Design Engineer's duties include, but may not be limited to, the following:Essential Job Duties: Transform customer requirements into successful implementation projectsCoordinate with the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), various government acquisition groups, and remote technical teams to accomplish project goalsRefine and grow the capabilities of current systems, driving continuous improvement to meet engineering and logistic Active Workspace integration and interface needsDesign, develop, and sustain the current Teamcenter environment and related application systemsRequired Experience: 5+ years of relevant work experience in the field of DraftingExperience with Computer-aided design and draftingExperience with Teamcenter, NX, or other PLM software, preferably NX within a Teamcenter integration and proficiency in NX computer-aided design and draftingStrong knowledge of mechanical design principles and practicesAbility to create detailed 2D and 3D models using CAD softwareProficient understanding of ASME Y14.5 Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)Familiarity with industry standards and best practices in drafting and designExperience with PDM system, preferably TeamcenterKnowledge of materials and manufacturing processes to ensure designs are feasible and cost-effectiveEffective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teamsTime management and organization skills to meet project deadlinesCompetent with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)Desired Experience:Experience in Amazon Web Services Cloud PlatformKnowledge of Navy Intranet and DoD IT infrastructureIdeal applicant should be mechanically inclined and be familiar with sheet metal fabrication and manufacturing environmentsHaving electrical fundamentals knowledge is also preferredUse communication and interpersonal skills with technical and non-technical personnel in both oral and written formats as needed to complete project objectivesCan use problem solving skills to address issues encountered on projects and work with personnel to get the necessary information through the correct points of contactAbility to efficiently manage multiple projects at one time in a deadline driven environmentSomeone who shows initiative and ownership in their work along with being self-motivated to carry out tasks with minimal guidanceTravel Requirements:Occasional Travel may be required depending on locationEducation Requirements:BA/BS degree in a technical related fieldMay substitute the degree requirement with an Associate’s Degree plus two (2) years additional work experience performing duties described in the essential description OR Four (4) years additional work experience performing duties described in the functional description of the labor category may be substituted for a BA/BS degreeSecurity Requirements:U.S. Citizenship requiredMust be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearanceAbout StraCon:StraCon is dedicated to supporting our government clients and warfighters by “Enhancing their Operational Capability”. The estimated salary range for this position is $87,000.00 - $123,000.00. The offered rate will be based on the selected candidates level of knowledge, education, experience and skill sets.
