This team is focused on monitoring and assessing processes that guide Blue Origin design, manufacture, and operations, ensuring system safety engineering, environmental health and safety, product integrity and continuous improvement processes serve the Blue Origin Mission and Vision.As part of a small, passionate and accomplished team of experts, you will develop and execute quality processes for the design, test, and manufacture of various spaceflight systems. You will be responsible to drive quality products throughout the organization by maintaining a corporate culture that emphasizes accountability, discipline, and attention to detail at all levels. You must have a passion for solving complex problems and providing operable solutions; act with minimal direction and on your own initiative; and be adaptable, as you will work on a variety of applications and systems. We are looking for an individual that can implement innovative quality initiatives as part of the design element for Blue Origin hardware. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight.ResponsibilitiesEstablish, implement, maintain, and enforce quality system processes that support products in development and production environmentsMeasure, analyze, and improve quality system performance consistent with organization quality goalsReview and approve manufacturing build documents including work orders and nonconformance records.Perform periodic audits of the application of our quality system in accordance with AS9100Participate in engineering design reviews and make recommendations to improve the quality and manufacturability of new designsRecommend and improve initiatives and/or changes that will improve product and system qualityProvide quality assurance domain expertise to inspection, manufacturing, and test for the Manufacturing teamCollaborate with internal and external customers on quality related concerns; develop and present training materials to build quality awareness.Minimum QualificationsB.S. in engineering with 5+ years of relevant experience.Quality experience in production environment. Aerospace, space launch, or military or commercial aviation preferredFamiliarity with AS9100 or ISO9000 Quality Management System and/or related quality systems and programsAbility to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and strengthen our culture of inclusionMust be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.Knowledge of manufacturing fabrication processes such as Machining, Welding, NDT and measurement sciences.Knowledge of Nonconforming and MRB process.Knowledge of First Article Inspection per AS9102Knowledge of SPC principles.Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and TolerancingKnowledge in Causal Analysis tools, including cause & effect diagrams, Failure Modes & Effects Analysis (FMEA), 5-why, fault tree analysis, etc.Relevant experience in transitioning a product from development, through production to operationsQMS Audit Experience And Quality Performance Measurement Analysis CapabilitiesSix Sigma Green, Black Belt, or comparable certificationInclusivity StatementDon’t meet all desired requirements?
