Peak Systems Engineering is an MEP firm with offices in Cary, NC, Charlotte NC, and Tempe, AZ. We are part of an employee-owned company and a place where every member of the team plays a direct role in the growth and success of the firm.We are seeking a talented, friendly, and determined Licensed Electrical Engineers for our Charlotte & Cary, North Carolina and/or our Tempe, AZ offices. This exciting opportunity will allow you to work on both local and national projects and interact closely with all project team members in multiple design and construction disciplines to produce construction documents, develop project specifications, as well as support the construction administration process.Responsibilities:Production of electrical design documents under a supervision of an Associate PrincipalDevelopment of reports and design documents, including but not limited to electrical floor plans, equipment schematic design diagrams, equipment block diagrams, electrical load calculations, voltage prep calculations, and short circuit studiesExperience in building power, lighting design, and low voltage system designPerform computations and analysis for electrical systemsUtilize Revit software to prepare project design, construction documents, drawings and visual aidsReview and write project specificationsSurvey existing building conditions and prepare technical reports of findingsCollect data and other information for construction documentsInteracts directly with clientReview shop drawings, submittals, and review/respond to RFI’sReview and complete punch lists and project close out documentsPrepare project progress (and related) reports for internal and external stakeholdersUpdate and maintain shop drawing and RFI logManage personal hours and data reporting as required using company toolsPerforms other duties as assignedEducation, Experience, Skill Sets:Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering/Technology from an ABET accredited institutionProfessional Engineer License in North Carolina Required or ability to obtain in 60 days5+ years of experience required in field related to the above job descriptionThorough understanding of the National Electrical Code, other NFPA codes/standards and energy codesKnowledge of designing electrical systems including low/medium voltage; power distribution; standby/emergency power generation; internal/external lighting and low voltage for buildings and roadways, access control, security and fire alarm systemsKnowledge of codes, code analysis and specification for electrical systemsExperience in sustainable design practicesSkilled in performing and analyzing load calculationsAbility to select electrical equipment typesSkilled in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detailAbility to analyze information/data and prepare documents, reports and correspondence, and complete assignments accurately and timelyAbility to use MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)Ability to use RevitAbility to work independently, and as a member of a team, with limited to moderate supervisionAbility to communicate effectively, oral and presentation format, technical and non-technical informationAbility to be organized, manage multiple assignments/tasks, work under pressure and meet deadlinesPossess a positive, can-do disposition and delivers superior client service and supportAbility to mentor othersExcellent interpersonal written and verbal communication skillsPermanent right to work in the United StatesOther duties as assignedWHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU!We are an employee-owned company and YES, you will be an owner and receive stock without purchaseCompetitive pay, bonus opportunities, and year-round flexible Fridays to jump start the weekendFlexible work hoursWe offer a robust and comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), ESOP, Group Life & Disability, Voluntary Life, plus many more!Professional Development opportunities that align with the Firm's leadership succession plan and/or individual development plan because WE WANT YOU TO GET PROMOTEDSocial and team building eventsWe encourage our employees to pursue local and professional advocacy groupsWe provide the opportunity to help with pro-bono initiatives that bring design initiatives to the community
