Special Education Teacher, High School (2026-2027)
QUALIFICATIONS:Certification as a Moderate Special Needs TeacherBachelor's Degree, Master's PreferredWill consider a candidate eligible for a DESE waiverREPORTS TO: Principal and Special Education AdministratorJOB GOAL: To work as a co-teacher and/or a small group academic support teacher to provide direct instruction to special education students per their IEPs.PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:Act as liaison for each assigned IEP student.Provide tutorial and small group instruction for IEP specified services.Develop educational plans (IEPs) to meet students' needs.Assist regular education teachers in the successful inclusion of IEP students in the classroom.Consult with teachers, guidance and other support personnel for student goals, educational modifications; make up work, untimed tests, organizational skills, and other skills stipulated on the IEP.Attend team meetings for students and provide services (including writing of new IEPs or amendments) as determined by team.Complete academic testing for students on caseload.Complete all paperwork (including referrals for reevaluation) within the specified time limits.Act as a resource for parents, teachers, and administrators.TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: School YearSALARY BENEFITS: Per Teacher Contract
