Collections Specialist
Description We are looking for a Collections Specialist to support high-value receivables efforts in Dallas, Texas. This Contract position focuses on recovering outstanding balances, collaborating with insurance-related stakeholders, and helping maintain healthy cash flow across complex accounts. The ideal candidate brings strong collections knowledge, sound judgment, and the ability to communicate effectively with clients and underwriting contacts.Responsibilities:- Manage collection activities for large outstanding account balances and drive timely payment resolution.- Communicate directly with insurance underwriters and other payer contacts to address billing disputes, payment delays, and account status updates.- Review account histories and payment activity to determine the most effective collection approach for each case.- Work across commercial and consumer collections scenarios while maintaining accurate documentation of outreach and follow-up efforts.- Investigate billing issues that may be affecting payment and coordinate with internal teams to support resolution.- Prioritize a high-volume portfolio of accounts, including significant-dollar receivables, while meeting recovery objectives.- Apply established collection procedures with careful attention to detail in a manner that preserves business relationships and supports compliance standards. Requirements - Experience in commercial, consumer, or credit collections roles.- Background working with billing and collection processes in a fast-paced environment.- Familiarity with insurance billing or collections involving insurance-related accounts.- Ability to communicate confidently with external stakeholders, including underwriting contacts.- Strong attention to detail with the ability to track account activity and maintain organized records.- Skilled at resolving payment issues, negotiating next steps, and following through on outstanding balances.- Strong written and verbal communication skills.- Legal billing exposure is a plus.Robert Half is the world's first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
