Perform all inventory cycle counts and adjustments; identifying root cause of adjustments and reporting causes daily; function as a liaison between the Distribution Center (DC) and the branch locations supported, primary contact for branch inquiries regarding inventory related post shipment issues; maintain system inventory balance; assist in physical inventory preparation; maintain the DC’s Quarantine and Cross Dock zones, ensure efficient product flow through the DC; perform bin maintenance, and fluently understand and perform all warehouse duties Duties and Tasks: Perform all cycle counts, consisting of: system generated cycle counts, spot counts, and counts requested by GL accounting. Research each inventory adjustment created by cycle counts to identify the root cause of the adjustment. Report all inventory adjustments via the Stock Adjustment Form to DC management daily. Provide reporting listing users or processes responsible for stock adjustments caused due to shipping or process errors within the DC. Provide this information to the DC management staff daily to be logged within the DC’s Employee Error Rate vs. Production Log per system user. Assist the branches supported by the DC with processing bill only transfer / sales orders as applicable. Function as a liaison between the DC and departments serviced via sales orders regarding shipment discrepancies. Research each discrepancy and report findings to the ADM and the Distribution Center Manager (DCM) for approval, so that invoice adjustments requests can be submitted to the Accounts Receivable dept for processing. Assist management with annual physical inventory (API) preparation and execution. Work closely with product manager’s, purchasing department, and branches to identify, quarantine, prepare, and systematically ship product returns to vendors as needed for product deemed as unavailable due to damage, mis-shipments, or product defects. Review the quarantine report weekly. Update quarantine log and post within a shared file for the purchasing dept., product managers, and material review board (MRB) for the resolution of products deemed as unavailable inventory. Prepare scrap request forms for product deemed to be unsalvageable for DCM approval. Review the DC’s cross dock locations, utilizing system generated reports to ensure accurate and efficient product flow of order as needed and non-stocking product through the DC to supported branches /dept. Identify any discrepant product, and report item #’s and quantities to all applicable departments for resolution. Process in house supply request forms, obtaining the appropriate approvals, and adjusting supply items out of inventory for use. Report adjustments made daily on the stock adjustment form to DC management, notating proper adjustment reason codes. Perform bin maintenance, by maintaining item/bin labels according to DC standards. Systematically and physically create and or delete locations as needed. Review reports identifying order as needed and do not reorder product, moving these items out of fixed bin locations to predetermined holding areas. Assist with the re-slotting of fixed bin locations for stocking items based upon bin hits, reset primary fixed bin and secondary fixed bin locations to promote optimum product flow and storage capacity. Be cross trained and able to fluently perform all warehouse duties such as: product put away, replenishment, order selection, packaging, staging, and loading. Follow all personal safe work practices on equipment, use all personal protective equipment prescribed, and report all safety issues or injuries to management promptly no matter how minor.
