We are seeking a Network Technical Specialist 4 to join our Security and Electronic Systems (SES) business Unit. As part of (SES) Strategic Business Unit you will be part of a team that designs, engineers, integrates, operates and maintains electronic security services inclusive of intrusion detection, access control, biometric authentication, video surveillance, audio visual, it systems, perimeter defense and command and control systems for federal, local and commercial customers across high-growth markets. Responsibilities The Network Engineer 4 is responsible for the design, implementation, configuration, and troubleshooting of the organization's network infrastructure. This role involves ensuring the stability and performance of the network. The Network Engineer works to maintain network reliability, resolve issues promptly, and collaborate with other IT teams to ensure that networking systems support the organization's operational needs. Network Engineer will monitor equipment, update configurations, and repair equipment as necessary. Technical Responsibilities: * Survey Reports measurement results in actionable form to more senior personnel and management.Conducts any surveys, inspections, tours, etc. of client sites, as requiredDesign:Install, configure, and maintain network services, equipment, and devices.Work closely with the field engineers to simulate expected system level performance and provide quick feedback on potential improvementAssist senior network engineers to identify and resolve network security issues.Develop network designs for each SLA classification.Originates design documents for small projects and in support of large programsAssists Senior Engineers in preparation of Designs, including Narrative Design Documents, Systems Designs, Subsystem Designs (CAD / Panels / Layouts / Wiring / Hardware / Communications)Preparation of Specifications, Perform QA/QC and technical reviews of designs.Comment Resolution Testing & Commission Review / Approval of test plans (Safety / Risk / Manufacturability)Author test plans Leads / supervises testing activitiesAuthor testing / commissioning proceduresPreparation of test reportsCommissioning of deployed systemsDevelopment of test fixtures and simulation devices Generates standard PITCO plans and procedures.Design and perform complete system integration testService & Maintenance: * Troubleshoot and debugging complex network problems and recommending operational efficiency improvementsPreventative maintenance (software/hardware/firmware upgrades) including security updates, performance upgrades and schedule maintenance.Originate and submit maintenance plan and provide role back plan.Serves as backup for team members during paid time off.Perform hardware / software upgrades and replacements on existing systemsSystem Analysis and Reporting: * Documents the crucial working procedures and troubleshooting of network operations.Employs moderate understanding of network administration as related to business operations.Assists team members in identifying and resolving basic/moderate Network/Telecom issues.Interprets and analyzes results versus established benchmarks and goals.Works with project managers to meet expectations for Network tasks.Completes project tasks and assignments to meet project deadlines.Contributes to own team and closely related teams through quality and accuracy of output.Performing research on available technologies and products as needed by the Operations or Project managersManagerial Responsibilities: * Prepares cost estimates and supporting documents for projectsAssists senior engineers in preparation of Bids and Proposals cost estimates and supporting documentation Pricing of change ordersAssist in developing and adapting documents, procedures, and formal processes for the Network Engineering team members to accomplish Company project planning (PKOM's and gate checks)Collaborates with other disciplines to define work / interfaces.Role Specific Responsibilities: * Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Certification is requiredProvides networking equipment inventory management, including reconciliation of network equipment in the field with the Division's inventory systemDocuments network information including all switching and routing equipment, connected or soon-to-be-connected IP-addressable devices, and all cabling interconnectsProvides expert support services necessary to augment network engineering staffAssists with day-to-day network maintenance to include installation, configuration, operation, and troubleshooting of switched networks and network equipmentReviews and analyzes current network processes and proceduresDevelop and recommend improvements to network processes and proceduresImplements, manages, and maintains approved network process improvement recommendationsDevelops and implements quality assurance and control plans for network maintenanceReviews, analyzes, documents, and implements network disaster recovery plansResearches, designs, and implements security solutions for network infrastructureTracks and reports identified information system vulnerabilitiesMonitors, reviews, analyzes, performance tunes, and make recommendations to optimize networkManages firewall security appliancesKeeps the Division abreast of emerging network technologies and the latest network standardLeads projects as an Engineering Lead and/or Project Manager to develop secure, resilient systemsPrepares conceptual designs, schedules, and cost estimates for new and modified systemsConducts design reviews Qualifications Clearance/Citizen Type: Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and may meet eligibility requirements, including U.S. Citizenship, for access to classified information.
