Quality Assurance Manager (Food Manufacturing)Reports to: Plant Manager (direct) | Director of Quality (indirect)Status: Full-time, On-siteOverview The Quality Assurance Manager leads all food safety and quality programs within a food manufacturing facility. This role ensures compliance with FDA, USDA, FSMA, and GFSI-recognized standards (SQF, BRC, IFS), while driving continuous improvement and a strong food safety culture across operations.Key ResponsibilitiesPartner with production to ensure consistent product quality and food safetyManage non-conforming products, including evaluation, disposition, and corrective actionsAudit and enforce GMPs, sanitation, and quality standards across production and warehousingLead, coach, and develop QA supervisors and team membersOversee HACCP plans, food safety programs, and prerequisite programs (SSOPs, allergen control, traceability)Monitor and analyze quality metrics to identify trends and drive improvementsDeliver food safety and regulatory compliance training to plant employeesEnsure compliance with FSMA, HACCP, GMPs, and customer requirementsServe as primary contact for FDA/USDA inspections and third-party audits (SQF, BRC, IFS)Escalate food safety and quality risks to senior leadership
